Finally UP! & Honestly One of the best performances of my career. My debut Live DJ performance at Habitas Tulum with live vocals and spoken word. What a vibe that Day! 

I wanna thank the Habitas brand and all of its staff, Oso, Eduardo Castillo, Joel Kim for recording this and also throwing down a dope opening set and the amazing audience that came out for this memorable occasion!

Influencé par son enfance dans un milieu de musiciens de la diaspora ghanéenne et une culture "bass" londonienne bien ancrée, Hagan s'est progressivement constitué comme l'un des talents les plus prometteurs de la scène UK Funky. Auteur de 3 EPs sur Soupu Music et Car Crash Set, ses morceaux ont été joués par des poids lourds de la scène anglaise à l'instar de Roska, Beneath, Formula Records, Funkystepz ou encore Marcus Nasty.
Évoluant dans un registre plutôt tribal à l'accoutumée, c'est un morceau très deep et regorgeant de détails qu'il nous a livré, confirmant le virage très explicitement "afro" pris sur "Gold Coast", son dernier EP sur Soupu Music. Amateurs du son sud africain, cela devrait ravir vos oreilles!

FIRS TIME YOU CAME ACROSS AFRICAN MUSIC: Since I can remember, African music has always been played in my house. When I was young, my uncle used to live with us and he was a DJ. So everyday he’ll be mixing Ghanaian Highlife and Hiplife as well as bringing Ghanaian artists to the house. This is what made me love that African groove and that tribal sound.
FAVOURITE AFRICAN RECORD: This is a tough one! I don’t think I can pick one track. Gyedu-Blay Ambolley’s Simi Rapp gets me all the time. Even though the track is really basic, I love the vocals on that track. Sometimes less is more. That groove is then heard in my other favourite Kofi Nti - Atweetan (Odo Lastic). Then there’s that Afrohouse sound and tracks like DJ Mujava - Township Funk and Kentphonik - Hiya Kaya (Rocco Deep Mix).
HOW I GOT INTO BEATMAKING: I asked my mum to buy me FL Studio for my 16th birthday. That was the first time I had a go at making electronic music. Before that I was playing percussive instruments in school bands. I didn’t really enjoy making electronic music and preferred to learn how to play the drums instead. However when I was 18 I picked it up again as a friend of mine called DJ Klipa asked me to make a UK Funky track which later became known as my first track God Bless House. The tune did pretty well underground so I decided to continue making music and have been enjoying it since.
ALWAYS AMAZED BY: Good Bass players! Love the possibilities with that instrument and the tone/timbre it adds to music.
CAN'T STAND: Routine - Always need to change it up.
KNOWS HOW TO: Play Basketball. Played for clubs when I was young and at Uni
