At the nexus where modern/future dub/club science meets the wisdom of the griots through the centuries lies "Horizons," a Sicilian-meets-Senegalese collaboration that digs up magic from deep in the seas that separates continents. Jah Sazzah's signature dub productions meet head-on with Senegalese musicians and singers such as the cousins Abramo Laye Senè and Bara Gianie on the track "Ndaga," which is only the tip of the iceberg of the dancefloor magic achieved on these very successful Africa-meets dub/house collaborations. Randomized Coffee is a music project created by two Italian DJs, Massimiliano Troiani and Tommaso Checchi. Their sound explores the world of Funk and Brazilian rhythms swinging through Afro-beat and Latin Jazz for the dance-floor. Their previous release, "Agboho" by Randomized Coffee (N'Dinga Gaba remix) topped the Afro House Chart in Traxsource and lasted as number one for a month. On this release, we have "Baba" which is already a Summer anthem for the few DJ's who have the song Worldwide. Steady percussion & vocal chants intertwine with sax & guitar solos keeping the energy up high. "Cidade de Kalimba (Ghost City)" is a long player that goes deep into Afro-House with an organic touch of sax. Kithembe’ is a roots chant of call and response praising the mystery of the Kamba drum. Brought together by Kenya’s Post Election Violence of 2007/8, Abaki Simba is a collective of Rastafarians based in Nairobi, teaching unity, peace and environmental action through music.
Kithembe uses proverbs and similes to relay a powerful journey of word and sound in daily living. The song radiates a rhythmic message from the ancestors through their poignant belief in African metaphysics.
Kithembe is a message of awareness.
Kithembe is a chant of perspective.
Kithembe is rhythm; rhythm rules the world!
Kithembe is a call to youth to remember their roots in a time of distraction and deceit.
