Daydream

MEDZ is a fresh new duo comprised of House legend Dick Johnson (aka Magik J) and synth guru Jack Millar.

Dick’s illustrious DJ career took him from DJing at legendary Manchester club the Hacienda to spinning tunes all the way down in New Zealand and most points in between.

A busy production schedule has him remixing the likes of Vanilla Ace, Crookers, Claude Von Stroke and Dj Sneak with recent releases on labels Play It Down, Saved and Vicious.
Dick also hosts a weekly radio show on 'George FM’ - New Zealand’s number one electronic music radio station. Keeping to his roots, Dick spends his late nights DJing at clubs and bars all around the country.

Jacks' career started quite early on in his life, producing sounds at just 9 years old. It all began when he discovered pirated music production software already installed on a second hand desktop. He spent hours every day watching YouTube tutorials and getting online lessons from professionals.

Jack went on to join a new generation of teenage producers, all armed with MPC pads and the knowledge to use, at most, 40 percent of their features. 

Only recently has Jack’s music reached the ears of influential producers and worldwide musical identities, receiving positive feedback such as ‘we don’t really have a place for this on our label’ and even ‘mix sounds good enough I guess’.

Together they are on a musical journey to share their creations with the world.

The first MEDZ release is “Love on Loop” featuring New Zealand vocalist Anna Coddington who just happens to be Dicks partner which made the process of finding a singer that much easier.
