Onyx III was formed through a haze of absinthe, vinyl records and full hearts inside four concrete walls standing in East LA. The three members started making music together an hour after they met at the Chinese New Year Parade.

Vonne Hadare, the 23 year old producer of the group was born into a family of Catholic worship musicians in London. He never had any interest in making music until he inherited his grandmother's glass harmonica. The crystal instrument became his obsession and he didn't put it down until he felt he mastered it. Slowly but surely he started finding other instruments and began producing, which led him to LA.

The 19 year old lead singer, McKenna Dellaplane, was born in the last home Marilyn Monroe ever lived in. Her mother was a failed actress obsessed with Monroe, who was determined to make her own daughter a child star. However McKenna was much more interested in the poetry of Mary Oliver and melodies of Stevie Nicks then the commercial auditions in Studio City. She started writing songs as early as she can remember but it never felt right until meeting the other 2 member of Onyx 3.

The shocking visual beauty of Stone Trammell's 21 year old face is perfectly offset by her low raw backing vocals that support McKenna's lead. Stone was born to an obscenely rich family in New Orleans but was kicked out and cut off after getting married and quickly divorced. Miss Trammell's loss of love and family finally gave her the push to follow her twisted Hollywood dreams, and she met her musical soul mates McKenna and Vonne on her 2nd of landing in Los Angeles on the streets of Chinatown. After the parade died down the three of them walked to Vonne's apartment/studio and started singing, playing and writing until the stars showed their light and went back into hiding again.
