Igniting the flight for number 20 on Anthea’s prolific Partisan label is the young and talented Argentinian, JUAAN. His direct and energetic productions have nudged him on to the radar of the underground, moving further in an upward trajectory with his “Soy Piola” EP. 
 
Built upon distinct and hypnotic synths is the A1 “Eclipc”, its transcending energy will become etched in your memory, creating a particular mood on the most discerning of dance floors. Bringing a spaced out yet dramatic vibe to the EP is “Mestreso”, an acid infused quest to an otherworldly atmosphere. 
 
The enormous “Puede Llegar” launches us into the B side, the tight and punchy drum arrangement creates a sophisticated groove, playing co-pilot to the enthusiastic elastic bass that bubbles throughout. Rounding off the EP is the sub-heavy title track “Soy Piola”, a tripped out and stripped back voyage, laced with acid splashes ready to stretch the mind of the listeners. 
 
Although only young Juan F’s outlook with music is mature, he draws inspiration and influences from the 90’s, molding this ethos into his own modern day interpretation, aiming to create something timeless for the dancers of today, but reminiscent of the dusty sounds of the past; something he also aims to enforce within his DJ sets, never restrained by genre.

This summer will see the launch of Anthea’s latest brainchild, PILLZ, the diverse label will sit comfortably as a sub label of the prolific Partisan outfit, with the A&R being carefully curated by herself, and long time friend Velasco hailing from NYC now Berlin based. The label is aiming to be a safe haven for straight edge, and innovative sounds from a selection of rising talent, and simultaneously friends and artists they have met along the way on their journey together. 
Inaugurating the release is the talented Francesco Carvetta, his debut outing is an impressive showcase of his gritty, and discerning sound, but always maintains a danceable approach. Four chunky and distinctive cuts spread across the vinyl EP. 	
 
Diving in at the deepest of ends is the sub heavy “”Part Of The Call” a chugging bass line remains at the forefront of the tracks as spaced out synths simmer around the heart of the track. Next up Carvetta takes us on a journey of “Midnight Travel”, otherworldly voices converse with the emphatic structure of the track, steering you safely into the small hours of the night. A stripped back trip of dusty nostalgia with the B1, “Minds Power”, blurring the lines between trance and techno infused with a touch of modern day class, nodding towards the after party moments. Last but not least is “Petra”, crammed with raw tenacity, layered with dark and serious tones breathing life into the enormous bass arrangement. 

Deep and mysterious energy kicks off what is set to become an integral label in the coming years, sitting comfortably as the sub-label of the prolific Partisan imprint. PILLZ is officially born!

Coming in hot for its second outing is Anthea & Velasco’s PILLZ imprint, this time they turn to Oshana to take care of business. Chunky dance floor action with an attitude from the Berlin based artist as she showcases her characteristic sound once more. The four track “Letting Go'' EP explores extensive territory, meandering between distinctive shades of electro, breakbeat, techno and acid energy from an outer place. 

First up is “Vindicator”, a tightly arranged trip, bubbling from the word go, leading you down a path of tension before opening up into a mysterious frenzy, eccentric synths wandering around the powerful forward motion of the track. Further spaced out transmissions that pack a punch in title track “Letting Go”, despite the raw tenacity of the track you can easily become lost in the depth of the production.  

Tasteful retro drums pave the way on the flip side in “Jah Rules”, conversing blissfully with the squelchy bass tones that flash in and out. Closing off the “Letting Go” EP is “E Motions”, a fierce electro whipper, ready and waiting to be propelled into a club setting, circulating the room, simmering as it begins to build a unique atmosphere on the dance floor, allowing the imagination to wander.

The 22nd release on Anthea’s sought after Partisan label comes from Dutch duo, PH Project. The Picnic Records affiliates have blossomed in recent times, and rightly so, their tight productions make them a firm favourite and the “Edge Of Impact” EP pays testament to this fact. Infectious club room energy that showcases not only their innovative sound, but their incredible chemistry as artists, an animated blend of low end leaning house and techno on the established Berlin label. 

Title track “Edge Of Impact” ignites the EP, a deep and chugging house groove brought to life with ice cold hi-hats, and mysterious synths. “Lostnation” is ripe and ready to roll, an enormous sound from the dynamic pair. 

First on the B side is “Such Doses”, rippling synths draw you in before lift off, punchy drums bringing emphatic energy to the dance floor. The aptly named “Oddjob” is the most curious of the release, the squelchy acid tones, and spaced out pads combined together make this a certainty for tastemakers record bags. The broken beats of “Radio Waves” ensure the EP is well rounded providing something for everyone, animated and emotive elements adding a new texture to the EP.

The second serving on the Partisan digital offshoot marks a return to the label from flourishing Norwegian producer, A:G. His take on refined underground moods is a perfect fit for the label as he explores a multitude of spaced out, futuristic energy in this dynamite four tracker, the “Retrofuturistic Persistence” EP.


The title track is a pacey encounter, crisp drums leading the way, in combination with twisted beeps and bleeps. Transcending the release to another galaxy is “Nocturnal Expedition”, rippling shades of acid driving the dance floor quest. “Distant Signals” packs a punch as we enter the second half of the EP, before we close on “Tridacular”, nostalgic broken drums and a distinct driven bass. Having released the hugely in demand Experiential Learning EPs on Heko Records over the past two years, Giammarco Orsini comes to Partisan with another haul of tracks that will get itchy-fingered DJs clamouring for a piece of the action. Italian producer Orsini takes a delicate, classic approach to crafting his tracks, focusing on creating an infectious, soulful message with the simplest of ingredients, and this shines through on the Game Of Chance EP.  From the funky bleep techno tones of “Planet Pan” to the dubby immersion of “Divenire”, with the snappy shuffle of “Any Robots Here” to the blissed-out pads and snaking beat of “Point Of View”. It is fitting that the first LP on Partisan should also be the first for Kashawar, an extremely talented producer whose releases over the past few years have shot him to the forefront of the house and techno scene. After notable releases on the likes of Autoreply, Mosaic and his own label Black Puddle, Kashawar presents his “Resonate LP”, an explosive ensemble of rave-infused techno which travels beyond boundaries to defy the typical groove of 4X4 dance music.
Take the uptempo techno thrust of “Hochbetrieb” to the tightly wound electro percussion of “Orbitbass,” Kashawar's sound design unfolds around the LP plotting a course away from Earth towards parts unknown, proving to be his most daring work to date. After gracing the label with its third release back in 2017, Giammarco Orsini returns to Partisan with another salvo of razor sharp cuts precision-engineered for the floor.

 “Italia 90” speaks to Orsini’s Roman heritage with an infectious, melodic and punchy strain of early house music that slides neatly into the rubbery acid bass and twitching beat of “Achimal.” Opening up the B-side, “The Regresser” pivots around swinging 909 techno funk and plaintive synth lines that call to mind the classic sound of 90s electronica. The record wraps up with the muscular pulse of “Dmorning,” which matches a tough rhythm section with spacious atmospherics perfectly crafted for those late hours when the dance needs to be soothed as well as energised.  Matching classic motifs with a bold, crisp production style that sits comfortably in the ever-expanding Partisan catalogue.

Orsini once again proves himself to be a vital rising talent in the European house and techno scene.

Parisian producers Alex T. and Noé B. are Charonne, a duo that have already achieved a lot in just a few years. Since launching on their own Rayka imprint in 2016 they’ve teamed up with labels like Automatic Writing and Lowmoneymusiclove, straddling the worlds of house and techno with playful, inventive productions. 

Their arrival on Partisan kicks off with big hit; “Reflexion Perception Distortion.” The track takes its cues from vintage bleep techno and brings it bang up to date with an infectious bassline, acid tones, and uplifting pad chords. Channeling the best that classic ‘90s techno had to offer and rendering it in a  hyper-modern, high definition finish, a bomb that melts across divides.

The rest of the EP follows suit, drawing on 303 action, cerebral techno expressions and synthwave electro house, their stylistic touch is never static, but full of melodies and parts that are addictive, seductive and seriously sculpted, we are thrilled to share it with you.

The latest Partisan release heralds the start of a new concept series; focused on two artists at a time. 

Antoine Sy, from Hossegor in South West France, has quickly established himself via appearances on his own BinarySound and Antam labels, as well as other spots on Novi Orbis, Opia and Rube Goldberg Series. His approach to techno is raw and punchy, perfectly attuned to the Partisan ethic of direct rhythmic structures and cosmically-inclined, acidic synths. “Varivari” is a direct party-starter, while “Damback” gets a little trippier without diluting the impact of Sy’s forthright production style. 

Cabanelas is an ergent Uruguyan artist and co-owner of Montevideo label. On “Kirko” he combines, tweaking monosynth arpeggios with mysterious atmospherics and a deadly sub-bass line geared towards total immersion. “Sobrevivencia” goes deeper still, capturing the spirited retro-futurism of classic 90s techno and giving it a bold, modernist update. Once again the sub-bass takes centre stage, edging into squelchy territory as Cabanelas subtly works the filter for the track’s freakiest peaks. 

Deliciously different and totally tuned for the floor, all four tracks capture the Partisan spirit in style, while bringing the spotlight onto two exciting new talents in the techno landscape.

'War is Over’ is a classy peak-time bomb that stomps all over the dance floor with it’s acid bleeps, vocoder sounds, boisterous playful bass line, hypnotic pads and fat drum rhythm; this track just rocks!  On the flip side ‘People like This’ is a slightly deeper diversion championed by a beautiful 303 bass arpeggiator motif, voice vocoder, subtle delayed bells, and immersive atmospheres transporting you into LVCA’s hypnotic sound.  Closing out the EP is ‘Timeless Melody,' deep, elegant and sublime with touches of beautiful piano riffs, warm chords, seductive voices; ready to mesmerise and be dropped at sunrise, sunset or whenever you please.

Next up on Anthea’s Partisan imprint is Rube Goldberg Series founder, Bowyer, “Something From The Chiffonier” EP keeps the momentum flowing for the label after a stellar outing from LVCA.  Bowyer delivers four cuts that are dynamic and innovative from start to finish.

“Something From The Chiffonier” boots things off in true Partisan fashion, peak time dance floor bliss reminiscent of the key moments we are all longing for right now. “Turbo Grill”heads along a curious tip, with mysterious beeps and bleeps that twist and turn, all the while delivering a playful melody and groove. Both jams boast smooth organ arrangements complementing the pop elements and rendering them modern house triumphs.

Riding the wave of a chugging sub heavy bass is the B1, “Badgers Crossing”, clean broken drums and rippling acid tinges as the track develops into a frenzy. Closing proceedings is “Global Positioning System” letting up slightly with floating synths that sweep you away like a dream.

The young and talented producer continues to shine in recent times with a steady output of high quality productions, simultaneously the Partisan family continues to grow and this EP from Bowyer is sure to be welcomed with open arms.

The foundation of every great movement is rooted in shared beliefs. Partisan, Anthea's inaugural imprint, embodies this concept by bringing together artists of a similar ethos, bound together by a common desire to enhance the current musical landscape.  Ranging from house to techno and electro, Partisan's releases move beyond genre barriers-a diminishing trait amongst the highly niche labels of today.

Launching in 2016, Partisan premiered with Oshana's "Arcadia" release, a warm, minimal-house groover supported by many key industry players.  The release proved to be an instant success, selling out in a matter of weeks.  The momentum continued with a string of vibrant EP's from label mates Inner, Giammarco Orsini, Kashawar, Fern, Ish, Cobert, Otis, Lapucci, and label boss, Anthea. This eclectic, yet talented group of artists formed from a long-standing relationship with Anthea, who felt deeply connected to their music.  Drawing from this inspiration, she created the Partisan platform to materialize ideas from artists whom are close to her heart and share their music with the world.  

Since its inception, Partisan has expanded with a growing list of talent and showcases around the world.  With dates at the notorious Club Der Visionaere in Berlin, Rex Club in Paris, and Resolute in New York City to name a few, the Partisan movement continues to thrive with momentum.  As the Partisan label continues to evolve, its dynamic, intelligent, and floor-minded aesthetic will push it to the forefront of labels for years to come.
