We met Volen through a tip from our friends at Cyclone as a Los Angeles-based DJ who was also a natural with production. In 2021 we released Volen's Distortion mini-album on Rhizome Forms. Those heady productions stuck with us and we knew a vinyl would soon be ready. Four years later, with countless hours spent in his Arizona desert sound lab, we present four acidic dancefloor interventions on wax.

“Validation” is immediately lively with a cascading acid groove. Spinning through inversions, the vocal refrains frame the kaleidoscopic dance floor energy of the title track.

The record's a-side finds completeness with the twisted anthem “I've Got to Shower".
Wobbly chords simmer under that famous sample while a slick breakbeat delivers the rhythm.

Side-b arrives with swagger as "Left & Right” rolls in with a mental acid and breakbeat powerplant of a groove.The track's breakdown billows atmosphere while the lower frequencies growl.

Volen saves the starry ecstasy for the final track. “Pump Their Dump” is an upbeat and dreamy acid house journey evolving into a collage of ear candy samples that'll satisfy dancers looking for that positive vibration release.

The original mix is a derivative of the flashy 90s Italo-disco, with progressive chords and melodies of today’s modern overlapping house genres. Debuting on our imprint is T.F.F. with a sensational progressive remix with gritty dancefloor appeal. The rhythm and tempo are emphasized by an elongated bassline, driving kicks, and a textured melodic-synth atmosphere. From an early age Sebastian showed interest in music, which led him to pursue different approaches to instruments but none of them found the connection needed to make this an objective of life. 

Sebastian grew up listening to different music genres such as classic rock, South American rock and experimental music. All these directly influenced his style.

A decade ago began a fascinating way to some electronic music genres, finding in this what in his youth had not been achieved with any instrument. Getting the necessary equipment started a path where deep satisfaction was aligned for the first time with the music. . His career since then has had many facets and different styles. His passion for music caused a constant search of new sounds and sensations that arouse emotions in his audience. Drawn to the dark, but driven by the light and a strong curiosity made him always willing to accept new ideas and musical perspectives.

Introducing a new name to Manual Music, and keeping the long tradition of giving (Dutch) talent a platform to showcase their exceptional music to the world, we proudly present the debut release of Krohl.

Krohl doesn't appear completely out of nowhere. In fact the Tilburg based producer has been part of the more mainstream orientated duo Matt & Kendo who released their music on labels such as Toolroom, Spinnin Deep, Lemon-aid and Flamingo amongst others. He even worked together on projects with big commercial names such as Joeysuki, Lucas & Steve and Funkerman to name a few.

But the heart wants what the heart wants. Krohl always had a deeply rooted love for the underground scene and it's genres. A love that ultimately lead to this three track release on Manual Music, featuring the songs Manisa, Grund and Melamun.

His productions are deep, mature and warm. Rich of melodies and tiny little details that make each song come alive and sparkle. We can only hope that Krohl follows his passion for deep and underground music more often, because the results speak for themselves..

Wow, hadn't realised what a journey SoundCloud would take me on.  After many years of passive listening to music I've dieted on a variety of tastes. My appetite for new sounds is undiminished and SC provides plenty of food. I am not a musician and have only recently started to listen positively to the sounds. My early years began listening to music from ABC, The Beatles, The Carpenters Dire Straits Eagles Fleetwood Mac Genesis Elton John Led Zeppelin Gilbert O'Sullivan Rod Stewart Supertramp Tangerine Dream Vangelis The Who and many more.
