I went to a shop that was terribly hip.
There were bees on their knees on the floor.
The music was strange, likely a cheeky 7 inch.
The chat was retro but the prices were bang up to date.

‘Can I help you at all?’
‘Nah, it’s ok. I prefer staring through the window pane.’

It’s all, so beautiful. I’m sorry that we can’t pay. Some stuff is stunning. Truly stunning. I’m sorry that we can’t pay.

'I think someone famous died in this one', he said, ‘so it’s a little more.'
'One of these old boys from the time before. What’s his name? That actor? Maybe Henry Ford?'
I said, 'maybe Gerald, I can’t recall.’
'It’s fine. I don’t want to be a pain.'
