People of the Light continue to build a storied catalogue of releases, and for their latest - label supremo Jay Hill prepares something a little special. “Believe in Me,” releases on Friday, October 25, 2024 and brings together 2 outstanding remixers that make this one mean something more. Renowned for an ability to blend melodic intricacies with driving rhythms, Jay delivers two compelling originals, two tracks that show the two sides of her personality, split between a more peak time techno vibe and a more rhythmic house number. “Believe in Me” and “Already Broken” showcase Jay’s signature sound characterized by deep, pulsating bass, immaculate beats, and a whole load of club-ready weight.

The EP is taken to further heights by standout remixes from producers Porchcrawler and James Chang. Porchcrawler (Harvey Barker) remix of “Believe in Me” infuses the original with a fresh - Detroit style. Vibrant energy that works to craft a dynamic groove and addictive rhythm. What makes his involvement in the label extra special is that Porchcrawler is the son of one of Jays long-time mentors, and sadly departed scene originator Andy Barker from "808 State". His remix is absolutely top tier, showing the next generation will push the boundaries more than ever.

James Chang also joins the record after previous outing on the label to give his take on “Already Broken”. He transforms the track with his distinctive touch, blending robust beats and warm layers to deliver a engaging reinterpretation that dances the line between deep and minimal. We chose these guys especially as their work not only enhances the original compositions but also builds on POTL's commitment to fostering creatives within the electronic music community.

A series of events, people and connections spread over the course of decades cumulate in this record. This string of moments and relationships is evident throughout the EP, where each track and remix serves as a showcase of artistic evolution that resonates on both a technical and emotional level.

What's good?  Welcome to Scene 5! As I look back it's almost a year ago I dropped Scene 2, a few days before Thanksgiving and now it's almost that time again to eat like crazy, watch some football games and just chill.... Today I had a well deserved day off from work and I decided to catch up on a few music related things so I decided to drop this musical goodness. I hope you enjoy. We have never been good at keeping secrets, so we proudly share one of Liverpool's best kept secrets - ISO3 / @iiiso3. Also known as Michael Newman, as he returns to People of the Light with the next level Timed EP. Following his contribution to the label’s acclaimed vinyl-only The Educator EP—a heartfelt tribute to Mike Huckaby—ISO3 delivers a trio of sublimely deep and rhythmic tracks that underscore his distinctive sound. Seamlessly merging raw intensity with an edge of soulful depth, Timed EP is a refined modern Techno record which pays its dues to the history of the sound.

Opening with the title track "Timed," ISO3 sets a hypnotic tone with rolling bass, underslung percussive groove, and classic melodic shifts. Each track builds on the momentum of the previous, moving things into a deeper exploration of rhythmic complexity and moody atmospheres. Finishing in a blend of moody synth lines and infectious grooves, balancing emotive depth with more modern ideas. Here at we POTL love bringing back artists whos' sound not only matches our but constantly moving to new places, that's what we are all about.

The Timed EP is a great example of ISO3's evolution and POTL's commitment to releasing music that works with discerning ears.
