We are delighted to present release #82 from Awen Records, a 3-track EP by Senses Of Mind, a duo of impeccable presence in the ethereal and melodic techno scene. First off is Ascend, a progressive theme that uses lead arpeggios complimented by powerful claps, snares and stabs and a breakdown with a sweet female vocal. Paradox, with a prominent bass and dark synths, uses trance progressions that make it shine. Finally today’s premiere, the title track, Third Dimension, packs heavy drums and analog synths that alternate with ethereal progressive pads.

Kynan Nonneman and Miles Vanderlooven, both from Antwerp, are the mysterious force called Senses Of Mind. They’ve been releasing material on respected labels like Steyoyoke, Somatic, Proton, Definition:Music & Kanvas, to name few. They describe their music as uplifting, atmospheric and driven, and comes nurtured by their individual styles, combining deep, UK garage, and techno. In 2019, they have upcoming releases on Labirynth - featuring two big
remixes from Kevin De Vries and Joyhauser, and then another release coming with Awen.

It's time for Mirror Records - 2019 marks the year of the record label's birth! It's been in the making for many, many months and now we're finally ready to share the very first EP with you!
We are extremely happy to announce Bock & Fuchs as our very first artist on Mirror Records. Of course, it's not a coincidence that this outstanding electronic live act features our premiere. We discovered Bock & Fuchs a year ago, almost exactly at the time when the idea of Mirror Records came up. And we immediately fell in love with his unique take on electronic music. With drifty grooves, crisp live drums and massive synths, Bock & Fuchs played himself into our hearts and we instantly knew he would be the perfect match for us.
Monsterfox is the name of the title track and like the prey on it’s flight from the name-giving predator, the lead synth shows a small glimpse now and then until it finally breaks free when the drop kicks in and the wild hunt truly starts! Rafael Cerato is our first remixer. We were following his work for a long time and it is a big honor to have him on board for this first release. He took on Monsterfox, making it a little more straight forward and heavier. Granting it a technoid touch that suits both, the track and the label, very well.

Carsten Halm is a German DJ and producer who keeps his doings very much under the radar. He started his DJ career more than10 years ago avoiding clubs playing at self organized parties in the countryside near Cologne with just two residencies. The parties got so famous that DJs like Sven Väth came to visit and hang out. This experience prepared him to understand the essence of his music production. His music has the unique quality to bring people together and experience something very positive. Now Carsten plays clubs as well but he still sticks to his roots. In 2018/2019 he released on the label Monkey League. Two of the tracks "Sonnenstrahl" and "Traumtänzer" made it in to the top positions at Beatport. "Herbstnacht" has a tribal sequence running that places you right into an open air setting at night. The track communicates perfectly the exchange of ones inner self with the things that happen around you. The track has the aura of an epic dance track which seems to defy time since it could go on forever. The flip side of the vinyl offers the track "Sternenfunkeln" in its original version and the remix version by shooting star Nils Hoffmann. The original is brooding and mysterious yet it does generate a lot of forward motion that pulls you into the track. The track could be understood as expressing the feeling of dancing below the starts catching illuminating glimpses of stars with their thermonuclear fusion happening while we are to far away to understand any of this but see the radiation into space. Nils Hoffmann’s remix is a sensitive composition with melodies that seem to glide, never touching the ground but on the other hand he has an underlying kind of tension running through the track not
unlike a current.
