Why do I have these lyrics in my head: "The heat is on, on the street / Inside your head, on every beat / And the beat's so loud, deep inside / The pressure's high, just to stay alive / Cause the heat is….boom, boom, boom, boom …on“? Exactly, it is time for a new episode of BBQ Techno and it’s pre-release "BT5“, highlighting the four exclusive titles of the full compilation.

We have to say, that we are super proud of the BT5 selection. What a bunch of great tracks, celebrating the summer and outdoor dancing, all of them genuine open-air monsters.

For the first track, L.A.-based Jon Charnis, who has already released some amazing music on Innervisions, Supernature, All Day I Dream or NO19 Music, has teamed up with Lone Star State’s Hands Free (My Fav Robot, Dilate). Their track "Leviathan“ is a blueprint for the sound of 2015: Deep, melodic and story-telling.

Next up is "Visa V“ by the Detroit/New York-based duo Ataxia from the Paxahau posse who have been signed by the Liaison Artist agency. "Visa V“ is a unique piece of music with unusual melodies and twists. A beauty with rough edges.

Schlepp Geist from Rostock has a strong and organically developed fan-base in and around Berlin, who is currently conquering the rest of the republic and Europe. "Tura“ is a rough and hypnotic charmer, with an old-school vibe. Working strongly on every floor.

The last but definitely not least track on this release, is the wonderful "The Space Between“ by the duo Moosefly. This act is currently delivering bomb after bomb and we are more than happy to have them on board now. "The Space Between“ has everything a tracks needs this summer. A perfectly crafted pearl.

Modd sits at the heart of the deep and organic end of the house spectrum with cultured grooves that move you emotionally and physically. He has released tracks on numerous top labels and also heads up his own Something Special and Cultural Code, where he continues to nurture an ever-evolving style. As a DJ, he has played major stages such as Coachella, Tomorrowland, and Printworks, and is a go-to for selectors like Lee Burridge, Bedouin, and radio hosts across BBC Radio 1, Kiss FM, and Ibiza Global Radio. Here he works with Voice Of Babylon, a new project from Denis Reshetnikov. This experienced DJ and producer now dives deep into rich melodic worlds and has works lined up for Anjunadeep and Bomond. The wonderful 'Bomond' kicks off with breezy synths and soft melodic sequences that bubble high in the sky above a slinky groove and textured bassline. 'Into The Jungle' is the first collaboration between Desert Hearts Records boss, Mikey Lion, alongside Sol Selectas Records honcho, Sabo. Both known for regularly droppin' tribalistic drum grooves, Mikey & Sabo bonded over a common love of music and a less common love of skateboarding. They both knew it was only a matter of time before they got in the studio together to make some magic. The title track 'Into The Jungle' is a deep, forward thinking tune that takes the listener on a ride through the mystical depths of the jungle. You can almost feel the energy of the jungle breathing down your neck as you make your way through the song's rises and falls. 'Lonely Boy's Mighty Jungle Mix' takes it up another notch as the same mystic synths from the original track build for nearly 4 minutes before exploding into a massive high energy drop. The result is a 9 minute epic that is sure to rock any peak time dance floor. The next track on the EP titled 'Sally', is a much darker, stomper of a tune you wouldn't normally expect from Mikey & Sabo. Laced with big kicks, heavy synths, and cryptic vocals to boot, 'Sally' was made for peak time in a dark warehouse. Finally, to round off the EP, 'Sally' gets remixed by badass Joyce Muniz who brings a cranking tech house vibe to the track. The bassline chugs along to constantly changing high hats until the acid synth at the end brings the whole thing home. In typical Desert Hearts fashion, this entire EP was made to crush dance floors.
