Paradise Loops is a weekly groove infused mix series aimed to provide a backdrop of balearic, anthemic and nostalgic sounds on those sun-soaked glory days.

50 mixes in 50 weeks is some achievement for us, and something we're extremely proud of. Thanks to every single person who's taken the time to listen, share, comment and like any of our material - it truly means a lot. And of course, thanks to every single DJ who's taken the time out to provide us with their own rendition of the PL sound. Here's to many more to come, and some big news in 2 weeks time for our first birthday!

Die meisten Menschen sind sich einig, dass es etwas gibt das bleibt. Es ist nicht fassbar und kann sich von unserem Körper lösen. Es scheint der Kern der Sache zu sein. Etwas was einem Ding Leben einhaucht. Es bildet das Selbstbewusstsein oder das Ich-Konzept. Es wird unterschiedlich bezeichnet, doch hilft es immer einem Lebewesen sich seiner selbst bewusst zu werden. 
Wir gehen davon aus, dass auch die Musik so etwas erzeugen kann und möchten es Wathan nennen. Das Wathan verleiht bestimmten Klängen die besondere Leichtigkeit und den Spirit. Es ist jedoch nicht immer da. Es zieht ziellos durch Zeit und Raum. Um sich seines Daseins bewusst zu werden braucht es die Liebe zur Musik. Es lässt sich da nieder, wo ein einzelner oder ein Kollektiv sich in der Musik verliert. Diese Atmosphäre zieht das Wathan magisch an. Es geht eine Symbiose mit der Szenerie ein und speichert die positive Energie. Wenn die letzten Melodien verhallt sind zieht es weiter und nimmt den Glanz des Augenblicks, hinterlegt in ganz bestimmten Tonabfolgen, mit. Die Energie des Moments ist für immer gespeichert und wird immer da sein. Wenn diese Musik irgendwo anders wieder erklingen sollte, spürt das Wathan eine Verbundenheit und zieht zu diesem Ort, um dort die Energie wieder freizusetzen und sie sich potenzieren zu lassen.

Lasst und gemeinsam mit der Musik von Slow Nomaden ein neues Wathan erzeugen, welches die Welt mit unseren positiven vibes bereist und viele andere Orte, an denen Musik gelebt wird, bereichert.

“Yo no soy un dj. La música que pongo es producida por mi e interpretada de diferentes formas para mis presentaciones en vivo”. Argenis Brito tampoco es un productor de música electrónica común y corriente. Su carrera artística se remonta a los primeros años de juventud en su natal Venezuela. Fue miembro de varias agrupaciones de pop y rock desempeñándose como cantante y bajista para luego, a mediados de los noventa, iniciar un prolífico recorrido musical que lo ha consagrado definitivamente como una de los más genuinos representantes del “underground clubbing” internacional. Brito es capaz de construir atmósferas que viajan en clave de techno a través de los sonidos del dub, el house, el minimal y las cadencias infinitas de los ritmos latinoamericanos siempre impregnados del ADN personal que poseen cada una de sus composiciones. De sangre caliente. Y con aroma a frutas tropicales. Una exótica visión melódica y rítmica que lo distingue en la escena dance europea y que es producto de su amplia trayectoria artística en géneros y tendencias de la vanguardia electrónica contemporánea.  El impacto cultural de algunos de sus proyectos y colaboraciones no son casualidad. Junto al reconocido Uwe Schmidt aka Atom ™ formó la banda que dio vida al proyecto de Señor Coconut, al igual que la ópera prima y consiguientes discos de Mambotur. Estos dos trabajos en particular ya son una referencia primordial de la música electrónica mundial y verdaderas obras maestras para cualquier entendido de la escena. Así mismo, sus recurrentes colaboraciones con el productor y dj Ricardo Villalobos han definido un nuevo sonido del género, contenido en su más reciente producción musical: Amnesia EP (2016) bajo el sello Melisma Records. Sin embargo, ha sido Cadenza, el sello de su amigo Luciano, la casa por naturaleza de Brito, aunque también ha publicado su música para reconocidos sellos como: Mobilee, Crosstown Rebels, Contexterrior, Multicolor Recordings, Dame Music, Sei Es Drum y Get Physical, entre muchos otros. Actualmente residenciado en Berlín, es un auténtico “evangelizador” de la cultura dance gracias a sus recurrentes giras alrededor del planeta que lo llevan, año tras año, desde Norte América hasta Sudamerica, gran parte del continente europeo y más recientemente a los confines de Asia en países como Japón, Dubai o Tailandia. Tampoco es casualidad que la sutileza sofisticada de su performance en vivo provoque las ambientaciones ideales de las fiestas más exclusivas del circuito mundial. Con el tiempo, Argenis ha sabido tomarle el pulso a la temperatura de cualquier dance floor, más allá de fronteras, razas y tendencias. La música no solo se hace universal en sus manos sino que es parte del espíritu aventurero y exploratorio del autor. Acordes, armonías y beats que hacen girar a la tierra. Su más reciente agrupación se llama Los Refrescos, junto al también productor Dandy Jack. Una propuesta que combina la instrumentación en vivo, las secuencias del dub, el reggae y su extraordinario trabajo vocal como cantante principal del ensamble. Un retrato en downtempo de la cultura musical caribeña, el house y los ritmos latinos. También presentes en su última co-producción junto a Pepe Mogt de Nortec Collective. La crítica especializada ha calificado a Argenis Brito como un pionero de la vanguardia del house europeo, casi siempre adelantado a su época y con una abrumadora sensibilidad para la composición musical y las actuaciones en vivo. Cualidad que lo vuelve tan versátil como para asumir el show como cantante front man o simplemente construyendo elaborados beats en medio de una sesión en vivo. No importa el género, una vez que la música comienza Argenis tiene el control.

The fourth OUTDOM mix is OUT NOW! Our special guest is DUSAN (@dusan-nikolic) and there are no words to describe his adeptness. 

The mix is a journey through unknown galaxies to the place where we are. DUSAN has introduced us energy and music waves coming first from distant origins, where entertainment is super-highly developed probably. The mix’s journey reminds more of our planet with its natural and ethnic diversity, where costumed people are dancing between plants. It ends when a mix scratch comes - now you are in the heart of impassioned urban nighlife with it's hot blood, and it is a human answer to other galaxies, but not a fight, because Dusan goes futher and invites everyone from other galactics to join him and people dancing in a heartfull and lovely atmosphere, and it's the end!

OUTDOM MIX #4: DUSAN

Mix 12 comes from a familiar face on the Leeds scene. @friedunderground has been around the block. He’s held residencies at Distrikt, Belgrave and KMAH radio, and of course played alongside us for our LMF party with Skatebard. 

Fried’s contribution to the mix series is a sneak preview into a project which has been brewing in lockdown. His mix takes us on a much needed voyage, spanning the spiritual spectrum of down tempo acid and electronica chug.
