Madloch's Sound Avenue rounds out the month of July by welcoming Forty Cats back to the label for her debut EP. With well over a decade's worth of DJ experience, Russian artist Christina Gavrilova aka Forty Cats has been a fixture of her country's nightlife, sharing the stage with Jody Wisternoff, Nick Warren, Yotto, Dave Seaman and more. Christina's production debut landed three years ago via 8bit Music, and in relatively short order the Russian artist has gone on to release projects via Lane 8's This Never Happened, Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music and Mango Alley. Also finding a home on Sound Avenue, Forty Cats opened the year with a remix of 'Dreaming Home' by Eric Lune, before going on to re-imagine Nopi's 'Hookan Idyll' a few short months later. Now as we enter the year's third quarter, Forty Cats returns to Sound Avenue with her first EP project entitled 'Forest Beast', alongside remixes from Berni Turletti and Weird Sounding Dude.

Providing the first remix of 'Forest Beast' is Berni Turletti who makes his label debut. Perhaps best known for his releases on Or Two Strangers, Higher States, Sudbeat Music and The Soundgarden, Berni Turletti brings a unique energy and perspective to progressive music. With the backing of Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren, the Argentinean artist has been tipped as one of the genre's future stars. With a 2021 highlighted by projects for Droid9, Plattenbank and Mango Alley, the Cordoba resident now adds Sound Avenue to his resume with a gorgeous rendition of 'Forest Beast'. Berni sustains an understated yet confident club energy, reshaping the groove into a funk-fuelled delight, while creamy piano's fade in and out of coherence against a backdrop of evolving textures and enlightening vocal fragments. Looking to bring further emotion to the narrative, the main break melts down to an array of incandescent melodies, planting gentle splashes of serotonin across the one-minute interlude, before ultimately giving way to a soothing finale.

London-based producer @prayerproduction is set to release a 3-track EP titled 'Io' on @rua_sound's SPHERES series. Following previous releases on esteemed imprints such as Hooversound, Black Acre, Grade 10, and Cult Music, Prayer is known for creating atmospheric jungle with an emotive energy that can range from poignant to ecstatic.

On the B-side, 'Reteoric' takes over with an epic jungle track that clocks in at just under 12 minutes. The emotive energy of this track serves as a fitting conclusion to the EP.

Another significant chapter in the Proportion archives, MUUI and his “Otro Mundo / Outside Your Body” EP was a notable 2024 highlight for the Dmitry Molosh led label in early June. Now revisiting the twin-track offering, the Proportion head-honcho create a devastating new interpretation of “Outside Your Body”.

With this his tenth appearance on the label, Dmitry Molosh has consistently found himself leading the charge on his hugely respected imprint. From his stunning “Proportion” debut in early 2022 and the “Shining / Watercolor” EP a year later, to collaborations with the iconic Navar on “Small Wonder” and December 2023’s “Shine Like a Star / Plant Growth”, Dmitry Molosh has presided over a 24-carat collection of sparkling Progressive House gems.

Furthermore, the Belarusian artist has stayed at the epicentre of a genre that has shifted around him with a unique and powerful melodic progressive sound. Constantly forward-thinking, his work for Proton Music, Hernan Cattaneo’s Sudbeat Music and Cid Inc.’s Replug are testament to an enduring relevance within the underground dance scene dating back more than a decade and approaching 700 production credits.

Now taking on a first remix for the label, the Dmitry Molosh reworking of “Outside Your Body” is a stunning creation that immediately captures listener attention with the familiar and ethereal pads found in the MUUI original. Further making use of the delicate and delayed keys, Dmitry’s skill is to wrap these in a deep and dark rhythmic foundation, driven by a seismic kick and crisp percussive shell. Adding a swathe of effects, a powerful new bassline progression enters the fray in the second movement to spine-tingling effect, developing a new vibrancy. Building once more through the evocative breakdown where melody and pads swell in a smooth beatless environment, a huge snare roll heralds a monumental drop into a driving rhythmic collage with MUUI’s shimmering melodies sitting front and centre in another incredible Dmitry Molosh masterpiece.

Studied Contemporary Popular Music and Dance Music Production at James Watt College in Greenock, Scotland.
