The classic Raya song is reinterpreted and presented as a special tribute to the late S. Jibeng for Hari Raya Aidilfitri 2015.

In collaboration with film and visual collective, Fhage, a one-shot music video of the live performance was released on 9 July 2015.

Musafir Di Aidilfitri (An S. Jibeng cover)

Spacedays are a rock band from Singapore. Founded in 2009, their compositions bear close associations to the late 1960s psychedelic music subcultures. Audiences have also drawn close parallels to American garage rock bands. Although, their sonic affinities lie with music subcultures abroad, lyrically, Mamat Suliman (vocals/keyboards/guitar) writes about daily experiences and relationships in the urban confines of Singapore. “Some days we just need some space to observe and to reflect,” he muses. 

Having released the debut psychedelic garage rock LP, Is It In The Circle?, as a two-piece alongside co-founder and long time collaborator, Shakir Samat (drums) in January 2013, Mamat roped in Zaki Shariff (keyboards) and Mohamed Hanis (bass) to expand their repertoire and explore their self-proclaimed “psychedelic groove rock” genre characterized by a guitar-driven sonic space complemented by the added textures of the “cosmic” upper registers of the keyboards.

On January 9th 2014, the band released their new track, Darkest Day'. It was recorded live with the help of Bobby and Fred at The End of Recordings studio. Eswandy (Elektone) recorded vocals and mixed the song in the confines of Mamat's room. We are heavily indebted to all of them for taking the time to help us with the production of the track.

Currently, the group is in the studio rehearsing for their come back shows in 2014. In partnership with Lomography and Blue Hour Sessions, the band will play its first show at Home Club (20 Upper Circular Road) on Friday, February 21st 2014.
