Here are three live improvisations by Leon Lockley and Lee Pearse recorded live on the evening of January 15th 2016 in our studio onto a Zoom H6. No editing. Just a basic mix.

Another live improvisation from Tau with guest musicians Roger Baker on drums and Andrew Pearse playing additional guitar.
Recorded live in the rehearsal room in one improvised take onto a Zoom H6 and subsequently mixed in Cubase Elements 8.
No overdubs and very minimal editing, just chopping out large chunks to get the original 30 minute recording down to 8 minutes!

We Are Delicate... this is the original on the spot recording of this song.
Captured live in one take on a Zoom H6 recorder in our old rehearsal room on Sidney Street over two years ago! Roger and Andrew had just joined the band and our new line up was formed! This song came from nowhere like a beast from the swamp and we don't think we've ever quite played it the same again! Hence, why this raw, unedited, original version is going up here! Enjoy!

Steady 50 - 'Post punk bluesy Lynchian guitar driven dirty swamp surfin' music...' or something like that.

This is what happens when you really want to play that particular guitar but it only has four strings on the time. Something was born from the limitations... and that something was this.

We Are Delicate - Demo
In attempt to prepare for the studio we recorded this demo version of We Are Delicate ourselves using GarageBand.
This track is very different from any other recording as it was multi-tracked with us all playing separately, on different days even! Andrew went first, laying down his rhythm guitar parts. Then followed bass and vocals from Lee and lead guitar parts from Leon with Roger's drums, bizarrely being added last! No easy feat! Suffice to say it's not the way we will record in future but it was a means to an end at the time and the process was enjoyable and informative. Even though this versions lacks some of the oomph of the original it allowed us to think about structure more and... it was nice to get clean vocals for once! No bleed!

Wanderlust - an epic trippy psychedelic wonderfeast of feedback with dark undertones of dirt. It makes us dance anyway...!
Another 'live in the studio' recording captured on the field recorder as it is. No editing. Only basic mixing and EQing. Not that we're experts at post production but we try our best. Nothing wrong with a good DIY ethic we say!

Sentimental Run Around (Demo) Instrumental Version

We are Leon Lockley, Lee Pearse, Andrew Pearse and Roger Baker.
Drawing on a vast array of influences from music, art, soundscape, film, visual works and atmospheric live work, TAU's ethos is strongly centred around all sounds being generated in our rehearsal studio, 'Tau Haus' and then reflected on to create a sound. We are currently recording our first AA Side single with a view to release an EP shortly after. We tend to follow a process of improv, recording on a Zoom H6 field recorder just to capture what happens and then think about structure and instruments on play back.
The full song structure being finalised in the recording process rather than entering the studio with fully accomplished songs.
We experiment and improvise constantly and with the amount of new material we create it can be a daunting task choosing which tracks to pursue!
