‘thee’
(WE ARE ‘thee’ YOU ARE NOT!)

Somewhere between the archaic objective from the Old English, a cup of tea in Netherland and an Indian drama, the band ‘thee’ has their beginning.

Six years after the creation (2005) of the band through the poet Dadaesque, the musician Doc Waggy and the guitarist Von Schallhaller, the former trio hits the ground running with three new members (Moses Thoughtsgrave/Bass, Thomas Schütz/Piano, Synthesizer und Jay Kovski/Drums) and a new imagination of music into an unknown future.

The sound of ‘thee’ comes from the composition of raw, psychedelique, but idiosyncratic elements. Together with the image afflicted lyric, arises a bonding that shows the uniqueness of ‘thee’. That style the band itself describes as lyric-obsessive Post-Punk and in doing so they don’t leave out any chance to drag their audience to their world to see them dance.

“It is like Iggy Pop is asking out The Doors to flush a bottle of gin.”, exlpains Von Schallhaller, when ‘thee’ are asked for their kind of sound.

In the year 2010 ‘thee’ spent their time creating and recording their first longplayer out of their collected conceptions. ‘Obsession with a Tongue’ doesn’t tell just one story: from the beginning of true love on the moon, from yellow, jealous lovers, from cats wasting their nine lives, from the carnival of dogmatists and many more weird encounters and realities. But as a whole the album needs to be understood as a tongue’s fairy tale without a happy ending.

The inimitable method of ‘thee’ to catch or connect temper with their sound, to tell stories of craving, dreams and weird creatures, captivates their audience and of course themselves. It is an addiction to find the right expression, a quenchless lust for making the world prick their ears that can be only sated with their undying love to music.
