When The Similar recorded their first record "The Things I've Never Said" they set out to create the most organic album they could. They created versions of their songs in the most natural way possible by recording live drums, bass, guitars, piano and vocals to try to capture their live and passionate sound.

"Pain/Love" is Lyrically about navigating and dealing with all types loss and realizing that the more you loved something the bigger impact it will have on you when it’s gone. It’s about coming to terms and allowing yourself to grieve. 

"The depth of your pain will always be equal to the depth of your love."

Wake me is a song about coming to terms with life and the people you need to let go of. Not everyone is good for you or you for them. It is literally waking up from toxic behaviors of others who are weighing heavily on you. It is sitting in solitude during those moments and lying in your bed at night looking for different avenues of venting and introspection to hopefully find peace.
