It's not wise to underestimate the power of his words, 
As he sits and he waits for you. 

Now let's be honest here you've had your luck, 
Some time ago you couldn't and wouldn't believe that such 
A miracle could begin and you finally get the thing 
That your heart beats for. 

But you see things a little differently now, 
And I've known it all along. 
I've been working overtime for weeks 
Trying to rescue what all went wrong. 

As the rainfall starts to drown. 
Patterns of interest fall to a frown. 
I'm a slow starter and that's what they say. 
But I know when the finish line's in sight the victory music plays. 

So on and off but when it's good it's great 
And now it seems this three-year trip has sealed our fate 
From the minute we accepted I feared I'd been neglected 
I was right on time 

God, you drive me mad but I adore you all the same; 
Metaphorically I'm the moth and you're the flame. 
They say I own too much patience, but they don't know the difference
