In October the Swedish artist Weaver released his latest single Boxes; an upbeat burst of americana that sticks like glue. 

Boxes, the first in a row of releases due from Weaver this year, is accompanied by an intricate animation that Weaver and the artist Johan Ejerblom aka artbyejerblom created together under the alias Silver N’ Silk. 

Initially the animation was due to be completed in three months, with both artists suffering from a case of impossibly high ambition! Now, 14 months later, the single Boxes and it’s accompanying animation is ready to share with the world. In that time Silver N’ Silk created a masterpiece and learned that big dreams can indeed be achieved but perhaps not always in 3 months. 

During the lengthy process both artists remained steadfast in their individual visions while trusting each other's judgment and artistic perspective. Using cardboard, styrofoam and other salvaged materials Silver N’ Silk created an upcycled world for the animation to take place in. The scene represents a classic Swedish city neighbourhood complete with governors' houses, street lights and trees! They created an atomic bomb effect by using a liquid cloud that imitates an explosive pattern when dropped into water. The rain at the end of the animation is the stop motion of molten glue on a sewing thread. In other words no stone was left unturned in creating this homemade visual delicacy!

Boxes is the first taste of a new intensified approach from Weaver. As an artist he has grown and his music has grown with him. His sound is trademark, his ambitions are unshakeable and production is perfectionist. To have such high quality visuals accompanying his music is the cherry on top. We hope Weaver and Silver N 'Silk continue to dream the impossible!

This is an upbeat nod to the 80s and the perfect soundtrack to any road trip. "Whatever Seems Less Wrong" is the first single from Weaver this year, and we can expect more music from the hard working Swede in the near future.

The expression Bright Spots could be described as “a flash of positivity in a bleak time” and the song tells a story of how another person can change the way one looks at life. It’s about finding hope and meaning when you least expect it.
Throughout his career Weaver has moved with fluidity through different genres, namely folk and americana which were heavily guitar driven. Interestingly this new chapter sees Weaver drop his trusty Telecaster and step into uncharted territory.
