Webstah – Biographical Profile

Born January 11, 1987, Anthony Green aka Webstah grew up knowing he has a place in music. Always having an interest, he decided to take it to a professional level at the age of 12 years when his uncle, whom he had often imitated, died at the hands of gunmen in the Tivoli Gardens area; this was his way of paying homage.
It was not longer after his decision to commit to a professional career in music that Webstah proceeded to write and catalogue his work. The young singer/songwriter credits his sound to influence of his late uncle, Docy, Tupac Shakur, R. Kelly, Boyz II Men, Beenie Man and Bob Marley. He has decided early to use his music to influence the youths of Jamaica and has since then entered various competitions to get the recognition he deserves. Today, Webstah remains strong in his endeavor and even though he failed to make it to the studio finals at the Magnum Kings and Queens of Dancehall in 2007, he feels that even that experience has strengthened his determination. 
In his own words… ‘Like many other Jamaican sing-jays, I hail from the inner city. Unlike many other inner city youths, I went above and beyond taking up a life of crime to beat the odds and pursue a music career. I know I will stand out in a crowd as my voice is one of a kind.’
This very eclectic artiste has done various performances across the island, including Simple Chaos and Entertainment Live up on the Roof. He intends to continue to work on honing his writing skills and is currently working with producers McDove and Jay-Crazie of McDove Music in a bid to complete his debut album. This will include singles like ‘Mama don’t cry’ and ‘All dem a try stop this’. In a nutshell, his content ranges from love songs to gangster tunes.
Now an example to his community, Webstah takes pride in his work and hopes to be an ambassador for hope to all inner city youths. Always meditating, Webster’s smooth melodies will win anyone over and forces you stop and take a listen. Look out for Webster, the crooner.
