Madalena Palmeirim - Afortunada (2024) (single)

A cantautora e multi-instrumentista Madalena Palmeirim apresenta o seu segundo disco, “Morna mansa”, o sucessor de “Right as Rain”, lançado em 2019.
 
Durante a pandemia, quando tudo parou, Madalena Palmeirim fugiu Atlântico fora com o seu cavaquinho e cercou-se entre o mar-a-toda-a-volta e as montanhas-cima-abaixo na ilha de São Vicente (Cabo Verde). Em travessia recuperou a respiração, a canção e desta viagem nasceu o seu segundo trabalho discográfico “Morna mansa”.
 
O novo disco é sobre chegar a uma utopia de encontros, num mar de partidas e chegadas. É sobre a importância da viagem, da errância, do sítio fora do mapa, do percurso, do acaso e da deriva, fazendo uso da plasticidade do som (música, ruído, palavra e silêncio) e do espaço em todo o seu potencial.  
 
Canções originais que também receberam palavras de duas companheiras-escritoras e cúmplices desta travessia, Lídia Jorge com “Afortunada” e Margarida Vale de Gato com “Marinha”, em duas colaborações distintas e ainda, as vozes de John D´Brava em "É bô" e de Milanka Vera-Cruz em "Mudjer".  
 
“Morna Mansa” é um passo trocado e transatlântico que não esquece a toada da saudade e o regresso a um amor que teima em voltar, manso e manso.

BIOGRAFIA
 
Madalena Palmeirim é uma cantora, compositora e multi-instrumentista portuguesa (ukulele, ukulele cabo-verdiano, auto-harpa e piano), que conta com 10 anos de carreira.
Em 2019 lançou o seu primeiro álbum a solo “Right as Rain”, onde juntou temas em português, crioulo cabo-verdiano e inglês. Navegando pelos mais variados campos musicais, Madalena vai do Rock, ao Folk, ao Samba ou à Morna.
 
Antes de “Right as Rain”, a cantora lançou o EP “Mondays” (2015), com o qual percorreu Portugal em salas e festivais. Madalena trabalhou com vários nomes da música nacional, fundou L Mantra e Nome Comum. Faz parte do trio Rainhas do Auto-Engano.  
 
Madalena dedica-se também a bandas sonoras de cinema como “A Metamorfose dos Pássaros”, de Catarina Vasconcelos, que recebeu o Prémio FIPRESCI para Melhor Filme na secção Encontros do Berlinale – Festival Internacional de Cinema de Berlim. Madalena é também autora da banda sonora do filme “Lá vem o dia”, da autoria de Mercês Tomaz Gomes. “Lá vem o dia” é o vencedor do prémio Arquitecturas para Melhor Filme na Competição de Ficção 2019.

A project by a young sound artist named Anya. Krucha is a cliff that symbolizes the inner state of the hero. Anya makes electronic music using experimental elements, broken rhythms, unexpected percussion, and transitions that jump around like moods. Stumbling through metaphors in her lyrics as if on crutches, she tries to find common ground with her listeners, exploring her identity and musical isolation. The music, which resembles a new cyberpunk genre in which you seem to be flying over the city in a flying machine, is calming and relaxing despite the chaos of the arrangement, helping the listener find an island of salvation even in the most troubled times.

About the album “borovok” in artist's words:

"My friend's name was Vova. He was my rock, my role model, he supported me and didn't let me give up on music. He believed in this album more than I did, he was there when I was writing it. I can't imagine my project without Vova and his presence in each of the tracks. Now my friend is gone, and I have finally decided to release my first album, which I dedicate to him. Thank you, Vladimir Borovok, you will always be a part of me and my music."
