Played this set at my homegirl Wendy's bday celebration over the weekend, and my friend Cassidy asked me if I recorded it (which of course I forgot to 😂) she loved the summer vibes it gave so I decided to head to Pirate Studios and record the mix there. Hopefully y'all get the same vibes too!

First time recording there! And first time using CDJs 🤪 admittedly the room is really small and my camera zooms in when set in 4k, so I had to shoot in 1080p. Also, I initially had the camera focused on me correctly, but I moved it before hitting record and forgot to check for that 🤦🏽‍♀️ next time will be better!

My sister got married in Hawaii earlier this year...and guess who brought their Hercules DJControl Starlight with them? 😂 🎧

This was kind of a short impromptu mix; I intended to film one in Hawaii, but had no actual concrete plans due to wedding prep and general island activities 😝 this was actually recorded an hour before our flight back home LOL. But I hope y'all enjoy! This is more of a preview of more island reggae mixes I'll make in the future 😎

Island/Poly Reggae has been in my heart for a while. The last trip I was able to go with my mom was to Hawaii, and we only listened to the radio in our rental. So this type of music always reminds me of that brief moment when everything was right in the world :)

Origin story for the title of this series: I originally planned to film this set on a bridge overlooking freeway traffic...but on film day, cops surrounded the area 😅 luckily I stumbled across this park, and immediately thought it would be the perfect backdrop thematically, considering the electronic elements in these songs. It was meant to be! And of course, it's heavily inspired by the MGMT song as well :)
