It's about that moment of suspended time before transformation, the calm before the storm, the breath before the dive.

This release introduces two remix collaborators making their debut on the imprint: Benoir and @dvniel-dt where each artist tells a different part of that story.

Together, these interpretations create a triptych of emotion: Past, present, and future states of the same fundamental truth.

"Carve My Trail" is a melancholic breaky deep house track that I produced this winter.

I spruced up my studio a bit and was able to add e-bass and a little guitar. This made the track organic, which I personally really like.

🎵 Padouc (live) [ at ] TURTUR [ Live - Special ] 🎵

The fascinating artist and thoroughbred musician Padouc has been accompanying us at Afterhour Sounds for several years now. The Hamburg native is known for his individual, organic sound with a penchant for melody and deep sound density. Cinematic music in other words. He also plays instruments during his live sets. So he's not just a live artist with a DAW and a drum pad. We booked him ourselves once, and we had him with a TRACK on one of our compilations. 
Today we can enjoy an exclusive recording of his latest live set from the Turtur.

✔️ What are your musical influences? 
I always have different musical phases and listen to a lot of different music. Some artists that have influenced my sound a lot are: Rampue, Kerala Dust, Levon Minassian, Boygenius, Fred Again, Lazarusman, Medium Build, Holly Humberstone and my friends: Gogi Gunia, Bliz Nochi, Marisa Lia, Martin B, HVDN and DJ Sharky. 


I started learning drums when I was 12 and played in metal/grunge/cover bands. 

When I was about 20, I started DJing in Innsbruck. 

Later at 25 I added piano/guitar and then vocals and duduk. I have been producing music for about 8 years now.

✔️ What makes good "afterhour"?
Outside, in good weather, somewhere in the shade, preferably with someone with a large roof terrace! Everyone is lovely with the guarantee that no one outside will let the fun pass at any time. Matching set: Rampue live* 2015 Fusion.

✔️ Do you have any thoughts you would like to share about your set? What was your experience of the set you recorded?

My live set is a never ending process and there are a lot of people in there that I have met or that have shared music with me that I have worked on. 100% of the set is unreleased material that can only be experienced there or in the recording. That's why every set is very special and personal to me, because emotional and creative moments are saved there. I'm not a diverse act, but at least the music is. I am very interested in languages, cultures and details.

The gig was at Turtur. A very nice club in Wilhelmsburg on the other side of the Elbe. It was the reopening that night, I had the perfect slot 11:30-1 and the club was packed! So many of my friends were there and everything went really well. One or two tears of joy were shed. Afterwards we hung out at the fire bowl in the chill area, a dream! (THANKS to Batte for the booking)
