"Five years after the first volume, ARENA01, Agva Records is back with ARENA02, a mega-pack of almost forty tracks focusing on the experimental and hybrid club scene of Latin America.

Released in 2016, the first chapter laid the foundations of the label and unveiled a solid tracklisting composed of close and local members of the collective (Defensa, EL PLVYBXY, CHLO…) and international producers (King Doudou, Bigote).

For this second edition, the label did not go easy and gathered a real festival line-up. ARENA02 features projects from all over the continent and beyond, from emerging artists to real headliners: Dengue Dengue Dengue, Lao (NAAFI, Mexico), Bungalovv (TRRUENO, Argentina), Endgame (Precious Metal, UK), Catnapp, Doxxed, Pobvio, or even the Mexican producer who signed the revival of pre-Hispanic tribal, Ozomatecuhtli. Among others!"

The 38th release of katharsis and our final release of 2023 is the prodigious compilation "Embracing Darkness, Absorbing Light" featuring a vast array of artist beloved by the label. Throughout the grandiose line-up of the 36 tracks, the listener is absorbed by various differing interpretations of the theme outlined in the title of the album. Some of the invited artist went full into introverted progressions and meditative sounds, while others focused on aggressive rhythms or anthemic melodies. But even though the styles and techniques of the songs differ from each other, the artists seem to have some commonality in their sonic palettes that binds it all together in a mutual love for music as a healing force of nature <3

Chapultepec (“grasshopper hill” in Nahuatl) has been a vital part of Mexico City for almost 600 years. A hydraulic marvel designed by the texcocan Tlatoani Nezahualcóyotl to work as a lung in one of the biggest cities on the planet. 

Throughout 19 tracks Lao explores the imaginative and timeless possibilities of Chapultepec in the form of deep melodies, organic textures, and tribal percussive patterns influenced by Jungle and Rave. The album is a homage to CDMX, the Mexican electronic music scene, and its dancefloor for the last 15 years.

                        Over DJ Getta Q


DJ Getta Q is een DJ genaamd Edwin Spoelder, geboren in Nederland. Vanaf zijn twaalfde jaar begon hij zich steeds meer bezig te houden met muziek. Hij was vooral nog bezig met het luisteren ervan. Edwin heeft zijn middelbare school gehaald bij elektrotechniek, kaderberoepsgericht. Toen hij hiermee klaar was was hij 19 jaar en wilde eigenlijk al helemaal niks meer doen in de elektrotechniek. Met zijn VMBO-K diploma is hij naar het MBO gegaan. Hier volgde hij de opleiding DTP (Desktop Publishing). Hier leerde hij een klasgenoot kennen waardoor hij nog meer interesse kreeg in de muziek. Hij ging zich afvragen hoe dingen in elkaar zaten of waarmee bepaalde geluiden in een muziekgenre werden gemaakt. Werd het bijvoorbeeld gedaan op de computer of juist weer met 
instrumenten? Edwins nieuwe klasgenoot raadde hem aan zijn eerste DJ set 		(draaitafel) te kopen. Dit vond hij een goed idee en zo is hij begonnen zich meer 	in de muziek te verdiepen. Al snel begon hij te leren van (onder andere) zijn klasgenoot om muziek te maken en werd zelfs kort daarna al gevraagd om 	muziek te draaien op huisfeesten. Zo is dus eigenlijk zijn carrière als DJ begonnen. Hier is hij nog een jaar mee door gegaan, ook heeft hij nieuwe 
apparatuur gekocht en kreeg er uiteindelijk zelfs betaald voor! Deze jongeman heeft zelfs ook al met de bekende dj ‘’Yellow Claw’’ een setje gedraait. Tot op heden is Edwin nog hard bezig met zijn carrière als DJ.
