In the studio, great friends often yield great results. Such is the case here with Arno & Dana Ruh, who team up for the first time here on Ruh’s much-cherished Brouqade label. Under his Einzelkind alias (now dropped here as he resorts to his actual first name), Arno helms Pressure Traxx, a label that can legitimately claim to be one of minimal techno’s most unconventional and consistent labels. As such, it’s no surprise that these two share a great musical bond.  

We get underway courtesy of the drum-heavy sounds of ‘The Dial Up. As is these guys’ way of doing this, this one is full of unpredictable twists and turns, and from the off it’s immediately apparent that their individual talents bring out the best in one another. Watch out too for the interesting samples, from old-school Internet dial-up sounds (hence the title) to beeping mobile phones. A tech-heavy roller with some swing, it gets us going in quite elaborate fashion.

On the B-side, the pair exercise their penchant for deeper strands quite expertly on ‘Echo Cancellation’. A thrilling cut that magnificently joins the dots between the intricate and the banging, it’s full of captivating rhythms and off-kilter vocal samples, with the latter being a core component of both producers’ recent output. Dexterous and enticing, it’s a track that’s sure to earn repeated plays from discerning deep house heads over the next couple months. 

The action then culminates soon after thanks to ’Teletype’. Again, subtle vocal snippets weave in and out, but it’s their pairing with the track’s dramatic acid gurgles that really drive matters forward. Intricate sounds, impeccably produced: here’s hoping this is not the first and last time we see Arno & Dana join studio forces.

Weider Terlouw is an artist that lives in the north part of the Netherlands, and was born in 1987. His passion for music started at a young age when he discovered the electronic music in the mid 90′s. Heavily in love with this electronic music, he decided to dive in headfirst, and get a set of turntables for mixing house music for himself. When he grew older, his passion for music was growing too with him, and a few years later he started to think about music production. From thoughts came the undertaking of what he would be destined for, and started to produce his own music. Since that time he has been busy with his creative mind for making music and developing new sounds. The record label Phonocult discovered him in 2005, and signed him for his first EP on 12′′ with an Bruno Pronsato remix included. After an perriod of time, he released on labels like, Delete Music, Stock 5, Catenaccio, and others. Terlouw his music can by discribed as an blend of minimal and house, with dubby and jazzy influence, covered by mind-altering abstract layers of sound. When u listen to him, you always find new patterns in his grooves that amazes you. Weider Terlouw stands for a host of original and thought provoking tracks, and his style of music differs from time to time.
