This week on the Weirdos inc. Show dj_2button was joined by Vancouver based PuBu.

First saw them playing in spring last year at an @accelerationradio thing in an anarchist house party. Didn't know anyone there really and was a time I felt new wave, post punk industrial stuff didn't exist in this city! My ears lit up like mad when @maxammo and @haptic__feedback shared the decks playing all sorts of industrial and punk derived dance music.

Now known as @pubu_lubu the power couple are gonna be serving up some heat on the second hour of the show.

Les mots de Clément, pas mieux : J’ai pensé un mix progressif qui gagne doucement en intensité. C’est rare d’avoir 2h en radio pour moi donc j’aime bien l’idée de pouvoir en profiter pour dérouler quelque chose qui prend son temps et explore des styles différents. Je suis toujours les nouveautés donc j’essaye de souvent en intégrer dans mes mixes, celui ci ne fait pas exception. On trouve une alternance entre morceaux clubs et des sons plus dub, expérimentaux et planants. Je ne m'aventurerais pas à lister chacun des styles présents car j’aime bien l’idée de se laisser cueillir. C’est un mix de touriste qui n’a pas peur de visiter les ruelles sombres autant que les quartiers populaires !

Solar Narratives - George Snow & Mutual Attraction - 29 Aug 2025

The 16th update to the Virtual Utopia program has been meticulously written by Naarm-based and China-born; Venus Flytrap. (@venusflyyytrap) Here she masterfully weaves microscopic spaced-out intricacies of IDM, ambient and off-kilter techno into a 66-minute audio-program embedded with layers of ethereal spaciousness and coded abstract breaks. Through this lens, the peripherals are the main focus. A mesmerizing soundtrack to cellular activity or the flashing LED’s of infinitely sent data packets- a sonic illustration of the parallels between computer science and microbiology, all coated in the hopeful gloss of a cyber-utopian future.
