bedroom reggae.  Is that a thing?  I recorded this on a whim in 2008.  Very lo-fi.  Microphone plugged directly into the back of an old Dell computer without an audio interface / preamp using Audacity freeware.  Ignorant of EQ / Compression at the time. Could use some serious mastering, major clipping going awn.  But it's got a gritty 'Studio One' charm the way it is, don't it?  Simple in-the-pocket real guitar, bass, piano, organ, trumpet (double tracked) playing by me with wah pedal on the organ, delay pedal on the trumpets.  Basically everything being fed through a Fender Twin Reverb amp.  Vocal samples added from old 70's records by Lee Perry, Johnny Clarke, and random Trojan singles.

Another oldie but goodie gem from 2008 with the guitar feedback taking on the lead vocals.  Annoyed the shit out of the downstairs neighbors with that noise.  If I only had the master tape and could boost the volume of those two screeching guitar wail tracks up just a hair.  There's an acoustic guitar buried in there somewhere.  Only had a snare drum, no drum sticks, so a humble little plastic spatula had it's chance to shine.  Everyone needs to spew out their own interpretation of The Velvet Underground on tape at least once.

Dr. Price - "On My Street"

An Old song from 2009 about a lot of things.  In a word.. death.  Both surface level lost friendships - intentionally and unintentionally - during the deeper contemplation of the decision to live instead of slowly die from chemical dependency and the uncertainty of such an uncomfortable new path.  And the confusing mess such a "healthy decision" paradoxically leaves behind in a person that ruminates incessantly.  Does that sound pretentious enough?

playful.  jazz chords.  jazz-pop breakdowns.  lipstick pickups.  fender twin reverb. frolicking bass.  airy casio flute tone, crisp hi-hats.  crash.  ride.  brushes.  snare.  thrift store audio technica microphone.  rear mic input jack of a chunky early 2000's Dell computer.  audacity.  no compression or EQ. didn't know how to do that at the time.  Never got around to writing or recording lyrics/vocals.  But it's a neat breezy little jam.
