From there he became assistant to recording engineer Denise Barbarita (Mary J. Blige, Angie Stone, SWV). He later went on to become head engineer for The GrooveYard - owned and operated by Grammy nominated, multi-platinum producer Bobby Eli (Love Won't Let Me Wait, Blue Magic). In 2009, Matt went on to create "Weiss-Sound" with Larry Mettham (management). Weiss-Sound has recently partnered with engineer C. Athens.
