These are a handful of my live and recorded studio cuts from the modular bunker sessions - ranging from the otherworldly, ethereal soundscapes, to the drooping emotional weight of the more piano and film compositions, to the netherworlds of dark sonic expansions, explorations, and beyond.

The intention of this release as a whole is to honour the creative writing and record making process without having to do final cuts / post production / re-recorded takes / programmed arrangements - there is a freestyle live intention that mirrors very much that of the modal jazz music we have seen over the past decades - the only exception being of course that it is within the electronic music spectrum and the modular world.

There are varying emotional aspects on this record, some of which are short pieces, and others are very long evolving organisms.  There is a lack of arrangement and a freestyle approach to these pieces, and they are intended to convey emotional moods.  We have wonderful news to share later in the year with my creative compositional work with IMAX & Netflix.  These recordings on the 'Modular Bunker Sessions' are floating ideas and puzzle pieces when writing for film, and I hope you enjoy where they take you.

We're in London for the latest mix today, as Kerry native FLÆN join us on the Local Selection for a serious four-to-the-floor hour of the heaviest hitters to liven up your Wednesday.

FLÆN is well known for his dark and industrial techno sounds through both his productions and DJ sets, and this set takes us through a selection of his own tracks, alongside some of his favourite bangers. 

Having only been DJing and producing over the past 3 years, he has quickly honed his style, creating a unique sound using both hardware and software in his productions.

The past 2 years have been big for FLÆN having had releases on major labels such as Gobsmacked Records, Falsive Records, Occult Rhythms, Tetreadre Records and JoeFarr's User Experience, seeing the likes of DAX J, Rebekah, JoeFarr, Parallx, Patrick DSP, and Kobosil, Kozlov among others supporting and playing out his tracks. 

This is an hour of the tough stuff to give your Wednesday afternoon a serious wake up.  This bangs.

Weiss is most innovative when he’s untethered from the conventions and trends of Dance Music production. Although he embodies the spirit of classic House Music forms like old school Jackin and 90’s era Chicago House, his underlying philosophy is quite simple - construct a beat that taps into the primal and speaks to the universal love of dance shared around the world. Growing up in the UK, Weiss accumulated a diverse range of musical tastes and influences, from Metallica to Motown and Phil Collins to Disco. An apprentice to Massive Attack’s Musical Engineer James Day early in his career, Weiss was able to draw from that deep well of inspiration and expert technical training to produce what would become a trove of instantly recognizable classics and unique, chunky, club rollers. 
Weiss’ initial success as a producer was immediate and profound. His hit single “My Sister”, released in 2013, hit the top of the Beatport Charts and stayed there for four months. Assisted by a generous amount of support from BBC Radio 1, his sounds caught the attention of industry heavyweights like Annie Mac, Groove Armada, Green Velvet, Loco Dice, and Kenny Dope. After several years of successive hit radio singles like his 2016 “You’re Sunshine”, which premiered on Danny Howard’s BBC Radio 1 show and netted a spot at the top of the Beatport charts, Weiss’ profile continued to expand. It wasn’t long before his musical contributions and electrifying performances began to transform the modern House Music landscape. 
Overwhelming support poured in from artists including Gorgon City, Eats Everything, Jax Jones, Duke Dumont, MK and Claude Vonstroke, and through a wildly successful career punctuated by remixes for Kylie Minogue, Robyn, Calvin Harris and Claptone, Weiss has found himself amongst House Music’s elite sharing stages with legends including Todd Terry, Armand Van Helden and Pete Tong. His 2018 single “Feel My Needs”, netted an immense amount of critical acclaim, earned the #1 spot on 5 international music charts, as well as a spot on the Radio 1 A-List and was voted DJ Magazine’s “Best of British Winner” for best single of 2018. 
Weiss is gearing up for an eventful 2019. Following lucrative bookings at Fabric  London and BPM Festival Mexico, he has confirmed over one hundred shows through 2019, including Creamfields, Electric Zoo and key showcases in Ibiza, Miami Music Week, and ADE.
