Only few Djs in the South African house music industry reach the level of accomplishment and status that Kanunu has achieved. He is known throughout South Africa as the best record salesman and DJ from the legendary and largest house music distributor in Africa called House Afrika Records (South Africa), Kanunu grew up in the Pretoria area during the days of the infamous Club Gemini and Cherries in Pretoria where resident DJ Vinny Da Vinci was breaking the tunes. This young man is from an Atteridgeville (Pretoria/South Africa) typical music loving family, which gave him a rich music background in the origins of the Pretoria Sound that is influenced by Jazz music. He made His club debut at Ellesse in Sunnyside, Pretoria but his first gig was at a friend’s birthday bash in 1995 just after he Matriculated. Kanunu eventually found himself intrigued with the sales element in House music and soon began to work at House Afrika Records joining the in-house team made of Tim White, Vinny Da Vinci, Christos and the late Iggy Smallz.
In 2004, House Afrika Records featured his debut single, "African Shebeen" on a compilation named Mzanzi house. Despite his success, Kanunu has always remained true to the spirit of the underground. When listening to tracks he choose on his compilation CDs he has put together such as the "Wicked Sounds Mid-Tempo 1", “House Afrika 1”,’We Love Buzzin’ Fly’ and the current ‘Hot Grooves Experience 2’, one has to marvel at Kanunu's ability to not compromise his unique sound for commercial gain. Kanunu has developed a massive following through his participation in subsequent other House Afrika Djs solo projects.
He has quickly become South Africa’s most beloved DJ, mostly for his talents, but also because of his outlook with natural delivery and also about having been a resident in the legendary clubs Ellesse and Carnalita , Pretoria and having a House Afrika Records tag on his face. He trust to keep pushing the boundaries in house music for a long time to come.

Sisco Umlambo, rooted from Pretoria Capital city of South Africa, has been regarded as the Capital city’s ‘Son of House Music’ from his tireless contribution to the urban music culture of South Africa. With over 20 years in the industry, Sisco Umlambo is often regarded as the stalwart of the Pretoria house scene and one of the hardest working guys in the industry by his peers. His undeniable talent was inevitably rewarded in 2002 when the Red Bull Music Academy (RBMA) flew him to Sao Paolo, Brazil, to participate in their global music academy, where he has since been appointed the RBMA ambassador for Pretoria urban music, still owning that title today. He has played an important role in uplifting the house scene in Pretoria with his continued dedication, being involved in the ‘Capitol House Kollective Series’,Sisco Umlambo together with Arthur-John “Art Jones” Bukenya formed the production outfit Sis ‘n Jones, which instantly created a mark in the local industry with their fresh new production sound as well as their LIVE performances. Their combined talents and natural ability to produce unique house music was rewarded, when they received top honours in the Westend Music search, with two of their singles being selected for International release. 2005 saw Sis ‘n Jones release their summer single ‘Set Your Mind Free’ the sound was mature, the timing was right and the single was a smash hit! ‘Set Your Mind Free’ was licensed to a number of compilations and was on high demand for remixes by local & international producers. In 2007, Sis n’ Jones released their full debut album , “No Barriers”, due to the unfortunate passing of Art Jones in 2009, Sis n Jones ceased and set Sisco on a solo career with a multitude of single releases and remixes as well as a debut solo Album in 2013 earning the respect of many fans of South African House Music
