The Sailors are back, after a gusty voyage, their suitcases full of experiences and music in their ears.
Welcome Back Sailors are relatively young as a band but old friends in life and they maybe share music and interests from even before knowing each other.
Transparent and The Fader noticed them after just one song on the web. From that moment a continuous talking is following the band.
From the Po Valley the blastoff to reach anyone who likes warm and colourfull songs.

“When we thought of Tourismo as the title for our album, we realized that that was it! We started thinking about all the shows played after our first album came out; all the people we met, the dinners, toasts, situations--Tourismo was the perfect description for all that. It sounded good to put together the words “tour” and “tourism” (turismo in Italian): it describes movement, curiosity, relax, and at the same time it shows what we like the most: playing our music everywhere”.

Three years after their debut, Welcome Back Sailors are back with a new album: eleven songs described by the band itself as purely pop; but these are for sure the most felt and immediate songs that the Italian duo (made up of members Alesio & Danilo) have ever written.

“These tracks slowly came to life during various sessions in our studio. The final track list is a selection of the ones that are balanced enough to give the record uniformity and define Tourismo’s identity. While “Yes/Sun” (our first record) was instinctively recorded and mixed entirely by the two of us, for this second album we had the precious help of Andrea “Suri” Suriani at Alpha Dept Studio in Bologna, Italy”.

It seems like Welcome Back Sailors’ classic synthetic sounds had found a new homogeneous wave. The main difference comparing this sophomore album to their debut is in the rhythmic choice, now more elaborated and less linear.  But it’s the unique way Welcome Back Sailors manage to make their synthesizers play so visceral that still represents the band’s most striking feature, combining pop with soul and funk.

“We can somehow say that our approach hasn’t changed; our songs are not pre-prepared, but instead they are a mix of more parts that share the same vision. Everything starts from a sound and the emotions that that single sound evokes, then we start thinking about what would happen adding more, and more. The whole thing is well represented by the cover: us in our own metaphoric universe of experiences, feelings, music, passion, and whatever surrounds us”.
