Fanmusic for the wonderful webcomic "Ava's Demon" by Michelle Czajowski. This piece was written with a sort of "Opening Titles" feeling in mind. Unlike all of my previous AD fan compositions it's much more focused on using orchestral textures to convey the enchanting beauty and mystery of the work than choral and ethnic sounds. I figured it would make this piece sound unique compared to my usual output. I experimented a bit with some things I'd never tried before, such as working in some very low frequencies which probably got mushed up by the quality of SoundCloud streaming.

More fanmusic for "Ava's Demon" by Michelle Czajkowski. This piece features the choral stems from "The Demon", which I composed, arranged for a full SATB and children's choir using EWQL Symphonic Choirs.

Working on this composition reminded me why I almost never compose a song involving multiple choir sections. EWQL SC is beautiful, but also a real pain...

Ava's Demon - Demon's Cantata

I've had Jeremy Zuckerman's score to Book One of the Nickelodeon TV show "The Legend of Korra" playing on loop for the past few days, and since Book Two airs in just about a week, I decided to whip up a short little tribute to Zuckerman's incredible scoring work using EWQL Hollywood Strings Gold, Hollywood Brass Silver, Silk, and StormDrum 2.

I'm a little late for 6/12, I know, but I just finished some piano arrangements of my tracks from coloUrs and mayhem: Universe A. I composed the originals back in January 2012--two and a half years ago! My, how time flies when you're having fun.

I have to thank my piano professor from last semester for these. No, I can't play these pieces live, not yet at least--but taking a piano course really improved my level of comfort and familiarity with composing for pianos. I just might make sheet music available, though!

Personal Demons is my latest single! Inspired by Ava’s Demon, Personal Demons is a new arrangement of The Demon, a work of fanmusic that eventually made it into the webcomic proper. I believe the new arrangement captures the gorgeous and evocative atmosphere of the comic just as well as the original track (which is also included, remastered, on the single).
