Lissie - Mother

Kandle is the solo project of Victoria BC native Kandle Osborne, a songstress whose elegiac and moody brand of singing and songwriting reflect a maturity well beyond her years.

Kandle met musical partner and co-producer Sam Goldberg Jr, (Broken Social Scene, Yardlets) in 2010, and shortly thereafter, the two found themselves locked in a basement studio together working on Kandle’s debut EP. Featuring songs weaving together somber, haunting worlds of longing vocals and dark, eerie guitar lines, the EP, produced by her father, 54-40’s Neil Osborne, was released to much acclaim in 2012. Following a move to Montreal to be closer to partner Sam and to the thriving Montreal music scene, as well as to step out of her familiar comfort zone of Victoria, Kandle and Sam quickly formed a band, with Jason Kent on bass, David Deiäs on drums and Emmanuel Ethier and Félix Dyotte on guitars and keyboards. 

Following the EP’s release, Kandle and the band embarked on tours throughout Europe and Canada including shows at CMJ, Osheaga, Pop Montreal and M for Montreal.  Kandle spent much of 2013 recording her debut full-length album, which was co-produced by Neil Osborne and Sam Goldberg Jr. The album “In Flames” is set to be released in March 2014, and features first single “Demon”, released with a video in October 2013. This upcoming year is the year of opportunities for Kandle and the band, as they will have the chance to showcase their full potential across North America and Europe.

WELSHLY ARMS combines their love of blues with rhythm and soul & good ol’ rock and roll, to create a fresh throwback sound that represents their Midwestern roots. Comprised of Sam Getz (guitar/vocals), Brett Lindemann (keys), Jimmy Weaver (bass), Mikey Gould (drums) and Bri and Jon Bryant (bgv’s), Cleveland-based WELSHLY ARMS pays homage to many of their collective musical influences such as Jimi Hendrix, The Temptations, Otis Redding, and Howlin Wolf.

The power of their live show has quickly built them a dedicated following in Ohio and has set the stage for things to tip into a national following in 2016 with performances confirmed on/at The Rock Boat, SXSW, Summerfest, Austin City Limits, Laurel Live, the San Diego County Fair and more. Within the last year alone, their music has been featured in the movie trailer for the Jack Black Film “The D Train,” a national TV/radio campaign for the Cleveland Indians, the promo for the new Netflix show Sense8 and the movie trailer for the new Quentin Tarantino movie, Hateful Eight.

In August of 2016, WELSHLY ARMS will embark on The Tour De Compadres, supporting NEEDTOBREATHE and Mat Kearney on a 53 date tour across the US, hitting iconic venues such as Red Rocks and The Greek Theatre.
