An all-around thrilling/pinch-me experience: This album released in the fall of 2002 - The companion CD to The Pianist - the film that would win the Oscar for best film and for Polanski as best director. An incredible experience for me, to be chosen to sing (and write lyrics to) new versions of classic songs written by the great Polish musician/survivor, Wladyslaw Szpilman - and also to be produced by John Leftwich - producer/ bass player for Rickie Lee Jones and Carmen McRae AND to have had the chance to work with some of the finest players in L.A. Mitch Holder, Heitor Pereira and Michael Ruff - to name a few...

My VO Story:
Wendy Lands possesses a voice that has sent parents running to buy their kids the newest Mattel toy, given umpteen people a craving for a Tim Horton’s doughnut, helped headache sufferers turn to Advil, advised car buyers to “Get a Ford” and introduced Canada to a little store called…Target.

She’s been the promo voice behind Fox’s The Best Damn Sports Show Period, ABC Daytime, YTV, TMN and CMT to name a few - and has added her chocolaty vocal texture to radio station IDs across Canada. She’s sung to you about tacos, beer, pizza and fabric softener and has voiced animated characters that run the gamut - from crazy aunts with British accents - to adorable children with lisps.

Oh – and she LOVES it all!!

Nominated for a Juno Award, 2 Canadian Radio Awards and The 2017 Cayle Chernin Award - Lands has taken her jazz-kissed revelry to stages across Canada, Europe, and the USA. Most recently headlining at the prestigious Ladies Jazz Festival in Gdynia, Poland. 

On stage, Lands has earned prominence and distinction as a magnetic performer - whether she's playing to a crowd of 100 or 1000 – she always manages to get the collective juices of everyone in the room flowing, making her audience feel as though they are not just participating in, but contributing to something special. 

Fans of Tom Waits, Rickie Lee Jones, Nora Jones, Amy Winehouse and  Bacharach/David love discovering Lands – especially her most recent releases; Mumble & Altitude. 

She has been signed as an artist and/or songwriter to PolyGram, EMI, Universal Music Group, Fontana North, Hippo, and as a staff song-writer to Warner Chappell Music Publishing L.A. and has lent her voice to two Oscar winning Films – Polanski’s The Pianist (Wendy Lands Sings The Music Of the Pianist – Universal Music) and The Shape Of Water (For which she was chosen and directed by Guillermo del Toro to sing the voice of Eliza).
