About me
I started to play when punk was in full swing, living and following the various evolutions with my band Bloody Riot, one of the best known Italian Hardcore bands in the early 80’s. I was already listening to a bit of everything at the time, from the Joy Division to Hendrix, from the Television to Frank Zappa... I had intuited then what I know now: you can find great music in every genre, if you can wade through a sea of useless junk.
After the hardcore years I continued playing and at one point my life had brought me to relegate rock to a secondary role. A decade had passed between personal problems and poor choices, then in 2000 two important, traumatic events changed my perspective.
The first was a terrible accident, I was saved by a miracle after an operation on my head. Then, as I was still convalescing, my brother Matteo died, three years younger than I and not yet in his 40’s.
The after-shock from the tragedy made me reconsider many things. I am wasting a precious gift I’ve been given. I know how to write songs, play them and sing them... what am I waiting for? As such I began to look for the right musicians to form a band that allows me to sing and play my stuff.
 
About Wendy?!
The band begins from a meeting with Andrea Giuliano (former guitarist - Destir), where we gave the name Wendy?! inspired by the film “Shining”. I have a passion for investigating and recounting the dark side of the mind and the human soul, and what’s better than Kubrick’s masterpiece to speak of these things?
The first album “Eleven” is released in 2012 on the RbL label. After 2 years of live activity the band has settled into it’s current line-up with Luca Calabrò on drums, “the engine” and greatest addition to live shows, and Alessandro Ressa who enriched our sound alternating between rhythm guitar and keyboards.

About “Notebook”
There are riffs for those who love hard rock, the punk energy and attitude, the dark post-punk atmosphere, the rough sound of alternative rock and above all, a way of writing “songs” that harkens back to the 70’s and classic rock.
I was talking about the dark side of the mind and human soul... and that’s what surrounds me, first-hand or as a spectator. We decided to call it “Notebook” because of this; it is practically a gathering of notes or thought processes from the last two years. The songs speak about the new poor and post-crises scenarios, brain escapes and disfigured environment.
I firmly believe that rock’n’roll has been, together with cinema, the greatest form of expression in the 20th century. And even though it hasn’t been doing so well lately, I keep looking for new inspirations, hoping to find the band or solo artist that can thrill and excite me as Iggy and Lou and Ziggy or, in recent times, Kurt Cobain and Jeff Buckley, Motorpsycho and Mark Lanegan. There are still musicians that try to keep this expressive form of music alive and I for one, want to contribute wherever I can.

BAND HISTORY

Wendy ?! was formed  in late 2008 by Lorenzo Canevacci ( founder and guitarist of Bloody Riot ) ad Andrea Giuliano( guitarist of Destir and 5Monkeys). Lorenzo on voice and guitar, Andrea as bass player, togheter with Cristiano De Fabritiis on drums, they worked as a trio till the album “Eleven”, recorded with Moreno Maugliani on drums. The album was produced by Guido Zen, and mastered at London’s Metropolis by Andy “hippy” Baldwin (The Who, Faith no more, Verve, Coldplay). After the recording sessions the band became a 4 pieces and starts the live gigs.
The today’s line up is:
Lorenzo :voice and guitars
Andrea : bass and backing vocals
Alessandro : rhythm guitar, ,backing vocals (occasionally keyboards)
Luca : drums
