Those Flowers 那些花儿 - Wenting Liao

Here is a little sample of my lullaby to pandas for a preview. In this piece, I'm singing in Japanese "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star". In the final piece, I'm hoping to sing in English, Japanese and Chinese as a full lullaby to our most adored pandas!

This photo by me shows you the adorable panda cub Jia Pan Pan from Toronto Zoo in August 2016. I had the precious 2 minutes watching him after waiting in an enormous line-up for 2 hours!

My Lullaby to Pandas (Japanese) - Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star

I started singing Yue Opera (越劇)when I was 3 years old.  It is the second largest opera in China which is known for its soft, elegant and melodic singing and holds its popularity in the regions around Shanghai. 

Although I did not choose the path to be a professional Yue opera actress, singing has always been one of the best ways of freeing my spirit and expressing myself. Singing is therapeutic. It is an art of mindfulness.

I sing when I'm broken open. 
I sing if I've torn the bandage off. 
I sing in the middle of the fighting.
I sing in my blood.
I sing when I'm perfectly free
