Pytzek’s story is not based on a father’s fairy-tale-ish vinyl collection, but on the constant exploring of flavored techno, house and disco sounds. He is DJ for 20 years now, massively influenced by the flourishing hip hop music in the early days, but over the years he showed more interest towards rapidly advancing electronic culture and hooked up with a few influential people who shared his views on music. Since he moved to Zagreb in 1999, he worked with Frequency Crew, hosted radio show on Proton and curated Mamatronic contemporary electronic music programs that became integral part of the Music Biennale Zagreb festival where he hosted names like Jamie Lidell, Mouse On Mars, Pole and Luomo. Soon after that he accepted a residency and promoter role at Sirup, one of the best clubs in Croatia’s capital, but also at highly passionate club Porat on their coast, a magical place where olive trees danced together with Richie Hawtin, Ata, Efdemin and Seth Troxler among many others. Today, he is wholly directed on music platform called Burek that he started with Mislav in 2011, and its sublabels Barba and Pomalo!. It’s a hugely respected label and family of earwormy dance music, club affairs and vinyl selectors that released the beats designed by Kink, Vukula, Juju & Jordash, Esa, Iron Kurtis or Ilija Rudman. It’s pretty impressive and there is no question why Pytzek cooked up at least two hours selection for us. Welcome to his colorful world.

2015 saw Flash Atkins release his debut album 'The Life and Times' and it’s mix of club smashers and disco nodders found people like FK, Andrew Weatherall, Horse Meat Disco, Ivan Smagghe, Rune Lindbaek and Bill Brewster getting hot under the collar.

Now comes the remix album with a collection of tracks some of which have only been out on vinyl and some not at all. It’s a roll call of who’s doing it right at the moment from the well known to the up and coming but all nail it. Names include The Revenge, The Emperor Machine, Sleazy McQueen, Pete Herbert, Tal M. Klein and Steve Cobby. Plus there's a healthy representation from Norway in the form of Ralph Myerz, B.G.Baarregaard and Mental Overdrive. From the paper stable Leon Sweet, Doc L. Jnr step up and the elusive Jamie L turns out a 12 minute Detroit (by way of Halifax) monster.

So you’ve played the game, drunk the beer, danced to the tunes, read the fanzine, rolled your eyes at the middle aged man in tights and now you’ve got the remix album. Job done.

From Trinidad & Tobago, Calypso Rose (@calypsorosediva) is the undisputed queen of Calypso for more than 40 years. After having produced 30 albums and composed 800 songs, she lives today in the Queens in NYC. In 2015, she met Manu Chao who did additional production on a few tracks from her next album.

From South Africa via London and now Paris, Mo laudi is a pioneering DJ / MC / Producer. He has been spearheading the Afro Electro movement in London since early 2000 and was the first to set up weekly residencies in London and Paris specialising in playing SA house, Deep house and Kwaito and Afrobeats.

Over the years Mo laudi has developed his own distinctive style, fusing cutting edge electronic music with traditional African rhythms. His dj sets are always filled with infectious energy, multi layered perfusions and diverse moods.
