It may come as a surprise to some, that in 2014, Armada Music appears to be making its first foray into a chill compilation. After all, Armada tunes have been essential to countless chill-out compilations for over a decade. Ever since the Gabriel & Dresden Chill Mix of Motorcycle's 'As the Rush Comes' first took over the world, the record label has produced a constant string of tracks and remixes that have found their way to relaxing locations around the globe. And now, overflowing with talent and tunes, the time has come to give each special song a new home.

From the soul-wrenching instrumentation of Michael St. Laurent's 'All Gone', to Moe Turk's jazz-infused opener, to a couple of spaced-out beauties courtesy of Rodg, the only unifying factor in this compilation is exquisite, blissful calm. One of the breakaway tracks from the compilation comes from rising Parisian talent KRONO, who deliver a powerful hit with Amsterdam vocalist Cimo Fränkel - 'Sweet Goodbye' is already making waves, and it's a force to be reckoned with.

Familiar, yet bold and new, the tone of this double mix compilation is one of over-arching beauty and deep relaxation. Pooling together dozens of exceptional tracks spanning a wide tempo range, Armada Chill 001 presents the genre as it should be - effortless and powerful.

It is with great joy that we see this release taking its steps on PHW as we this time bring on the talented producer from Germany, Maiga, to our leading label. With a string of crisp and melodic release through well respected labels such as sunsetmelodies and Perplexity among others, we now see him join us with the beautiful “Orion”. 

“Orion” is a pure melodic bliss taking on us a melody driven journey from start to finish, added on tasty vocal additions as well is giving this warm production some even more spice. It’s as said before a true joy seeing him join us for this release.

To add more to it, we see a welcome return from a long time friend of ours, as we after a long spell away from us see the always creative Alex H return to PHW once again with another massive production. For those of you that been following the scene over the past years know all about the ability that this guy has, and here is another one from him, built on warm and melodic arrangements as well as his fine ear from building harmonies. It is a true pleasure seeing Alex back on the label, and the outcome on his return production is pure mint as always if you are up for the sun drenched vibes he is creating.

We also have the pleasure to welcome back Norways very own man of melodies, Ethillas, as he returns with another sensational act of melodic vibes and energy. With a remake, built on an amazing atmosphere, striking riffs as well as always building through deep and emotive textures, we are certain you will see this as another winner from the mighty talent.

It doesn’t get much bigger than this: Adam Beyer links up with Green Velvet and Drumcode’s outstanding rising star Layton Giordani for a debut collaboration.

Some musical partnerships feel fated. Both fans of one another’s work, for years Adam Beyer and Green Velvet had discussed writing music together. In turn, Beyer’s protégé Layton Giordani had admired the Chicagoan’s work for as long as he could remember. When the 25-year-old found himself playing alongside the green mohawked legend at Belfast’s Shine, the spark and subsequent friendship was immediate. With the links now set in place, it was only a matter of time before the trio’s creative chemistry would manifest musically.

‘Space Date’ was conceived organically and birthed quickly. Propelled by Green Velvet’s trademark vocal hypnotism, the triumvirate combine to craft a pumping intergalactic slice of techno laced in melody that’s highlighted sets by Beyer at Awakenings, Ushuaia and also EDC Vegas when Green Velvet dropped it to a raucous response. The track is complimented by ‘Rome Future’, the product of a year-long series of productions between Beyer and Giordani. Deftly combining crisp drum work, catchy vocal effects and a powerful bassline melody that gives the track an almighty kick, it will be familiar to many who’ve followed their sets over recent months.

Showcasing his ever-evolving sound palette, Jason Ross continues to broaden his sonic horizons with "The Gorge," his latest single release from the upcoming 'Rooms' EP. In addition, Jason is pleased to release his first Rooms Mix, the debut installment of a 6-part series to be spread across 2019. 

‘The Gorge’ sees Jason incorporate a psy-trance twist into the classic Anjuna formula, courtesy of the young producers, Dimibo. Bringing the tune together, however, took quite a while. "I don't think I've ever had so many different versions of a track before this one, described Jason. "There were so many directions I tried taking it, but nothing was exciting to me. I knew the track was special and I didn't want to put it to the side, so I kept trying different routes. Then I had this wild idea to turn it into a cross-breed of progressive trance and psy-trance, and it all clicked."

The track is a reflection of the eclectic sets he's recently performed alongside the Ophelia label manager, Seven Lions. Jason went on, "lately, I've been experimenting producing different genres and playing them out at shows. When I played b2b with Seven Lions at #ABGT250, we played a psy-trance track and I've never experienced such a raw reaction from the crowd when that bassline dropped. I knew I wanted to try and recreate something like that which I could also play in my own sets."

Another new project, The Rooms Mixes are another way for Jason to show his increasingly diverse taste in dance music. Said the young producer of the series, "Hosting a 6-part series across 2019 will let me showcase both old classics and new material outside of the live environment. I can give fans a taste of where my heads at in a different way."
