Bonnie Banane and Joseph Schiano di Lombo present L’Orguasme, an album of bawdy and devotional songs accompanied by the organ of the Cité de la Musique / Philharmonie de Paris. Literally composed and written for pleasure, this work (of the flesh, naturally) pays tribute to the most spectacular expression of ecstasy — a paradise so near and yet so misunderstood. From the most restrained sighs to the most dazzling vocal outbursts, from the foreplay to the eruption, not to mention the bliss that follows the incandescence, Bonnie and Joseph sing about the art of genuflection, of climbing the walls, and of the "little death," without shying away from the darker areas: those of guilty, forbidden, feigned, or selfish pleasures, for instance.

By turns light, explosive, mystical, burlesque, and poetic, this music diverts the organ from its centuries-old habits, achieving a union of the profane and the sacred, the crass and the beautiful, the body and the spirit, early music and pop — reminding us of the essential truth: it’s better to come than to cry.

While the minimalism of the arrangements initially strikes the ear — no instruments other than the organ accompany these musical escapades — the album is infused with numerous unexpected influences: R&B (La petite mort), swing (Le cri), gospel (Simulation blues), jazz (Le calme après l’œuvrette), medieval ballads (Ronde génitale, Au plaisir), and even a famous 16th- century folk dance called the branle (Branle [Censored]).

A sexy, lush, stripped-down, and unabashed opus, glorifying what remains glorious: love, music, and the boundless joy of creation.

To celebrate the highly anticipated Sabres of Paradise album reissues, we're ecstatic to bring the iconic sounds of the Sabresonic club night to Stranger Than Paradise for one night only on
Wednesday 6th August from 7pm til midnight.

On the night we'll be treated to DJ sets from the band's Jagz Kooner, alongside Sabresonic regulars Alex Knight and Sherman at the Conrols.

I don't know, why I am into Hip Hop and EDM lately, but I can not help it. And I have no idea where to publish it, so SC is my place for my out of place tracks. I was very impressed by the power of this woman defending the rights of the Maori-people, so it inspired me to make a track out off her speech at the New Zealand parliament. Runnin to Sanity

We’rewolves name emerged from a cloud of dreams. The quartet has forged a live show drawn from organic creativity. A remarkable transformation has evolved between drummer Austin Adams, the blues guitar of Rob Hine, the rhythmic groove of bassist Joe Cannariato, and the lupine carnality of singer Riley Knight. They are a group of Texas boys who found themselves in the Petri dish of Fort Worth’s rock scene. Sharing stages across town with local luminaries such as Oil Boom, they’ve also been called on to support road shows like the UK’s Little Barrie.

Their self-titled debut swirls with lush production, wrapping blues logic in spacious clouds. Co-producer Steve Steward anchors bass amidst the ‘wolves, conspiring with WizardVizion partner Jordan Richardson to design a pulsing sonic palette. Textures of Garage and Psych coat the rhythmic tensions Cashman and Steward derive, imbuing the energy with wild brilliance.

During the band’s tenure, they have worked with splendid talent, including Jeff Dazey, the otherworldly Panther City saxophonist who adds a fried 70s street sound to songs like epic rocker “Find My Way.” Weaving a tapestry that integrates dreamy pop vibes with inky rhythms, the hard rock drive is folded into spaced-out diffusion.
The album indicates the earliest incantations of a longer saga, an auspicious debut from a band that joined Blackbox’s roster of talent in August 2012. Their presence is being seen in the media, as they were voted Best Rock Act in the 2013 Dallas Observer Music Awards and Best New Act in the 2013 Fort Worth Weekly Awards.
