This is BRILLIANT!! I play slightly different notes in the first 2bars - impeccable timing,phrasing - I certainly appreciate the degree of difficulty!! Ha!HA! STUNNING performance sir!!Peace;))

Toccata and Fugue in D minor, BWV 565 (not to be confused with a series of German cars), attributed to Johann Sebastian Bach. This is from around 1700 but sounds timeless to me.

I'm using the Nord Stage 2 sampled church organs and I've added some harpsichord to try to give it a little bit different feel. I only play the beginning and the end of the fugue (the middle part is less fun...) Organ (and harpsichord) are not the most expressive instruments - you can't control the volume of each note - yet this piece works so well and is so overwhelmingly beautiful.

Cute story: I remember attending church every Sunday when I was a kid and naively hoping they'd play this piece!

My music world: bass trombone, piano, guitar, t-sax, organ, chalumeau ...

Because of lacking a musical education during my youth I suffer in recognizing and playing printed music patterns. After picking up the melody, the rhythm and the harmonies of suitable master pieces I play it by combining that parts how it works for me. Based on the given harmonies I like to add my own bass line, similar to what you find in Johann Sebastian Bach's work. That's particulary true when I play old ( christmas ) chorales but in new ways ( not yet uploaded ). As well I try to make the rhythms of the old pieces a little more spicy.
