This is a tune for play on the bagpipe... scottish style.  The title is literally "The New Opener" - I wrote it and perfected its melody sometime around April/May  of 2010... the audio is a looped segment of my original wooden Hardie (ca. 1960/70's) practice chanter which was then mapped over a virtual midi keyboard, edited, tuned, timbred to perfection and turned into a soundfont file. Staff notation is created in bagpipe music writer gold edition, then saved as a midi file which I open with Cakewalk Pro Audio 9.x, turn into a .wrk file with the soundfont as the main instrument(s)... a drone track is added, and then a midi-to-wav program creates my master .wav  "recording" of the piece. After the resultant file is passed thru various sound boxes/filters in Sony's SoundForge Pro 10.x, given a little acoustic depth, the final music track or sound file is what you have here, er, I have here. The New Opener (var.2) - Ian Werner

Hi. I play the bagpipe, as in the Great Highland Bagpipe - which is it's official and true name. I think it, and its official article of clothing, the kilt, are two of the greatest inventions in the history of mankind. Undoubtedly, they are Scotland's greatest gift to the human race. 

I also like a lot of other folk and culturally-based traditional musical instruments and the subsequent mudsic their musicians create.

I also make a lot of computer music using soundfonts of my own I instruments.. Very good for creating chords and harmibies harmonies that would otherwise probably never was exist.
