Palm Paradise is back with some very pleasant guests from Munich/Berlin, who invited me to play at one of their infamous House of Gold events back in February. If you ever get the chance to join one of their future editions, you should definitely go!

Käthe&Haes are a Munich and Berlin based DJ Duo who are actively taking part in the electronic music scenes of both cities. Their sets are filled with house gems from many record stores where they love to spent their time digging. In Munich they host the event series House of Gold, an especially glittery motto party for house music.

In their set for Palm Paradise they compiled very deep and stripped down house tracks containing DJ Balduin, Silverlining, The Mountain People and many more.

Hailing from Hannover, @luise-gryc is a standout DJ and electronic music producer deeply influenced by House and Deep Music. From an early age, her exposure to the genre forged a strong connection, which was later recognized by the Paris-based label Skylax Records. Her distinctive sound, amplified by her passion for vinyl, resonates with the heart of the dancer and the core rhythm of the groove. October 2023 will see her debut vinyl releases on "I'M IN LOVE RECORDS" and Skylax Records, showcasing her unique ability to encapsulate emotions in her electronic compositions.

From progressive house to electro, n:oem love to mix their favorite genres. But don't get too attached, they also love to discover and play new music genres. Both are also involved in the cultural scene in both cities and are always happy to be part of new projects.

INTERVIEW
How did you get into Djing?
During the COVID-19 pandemic, we both felt the need to find a musical outlet. When we saw the post from Conne Island's 'Proberaum,' we signed up for the mentoring lessons, and that's how it all started. 

Where do you get inspirations?
Our inspiration comes from many different sources: friends, clubs, festivals, and working with collectives/cultural associations. We also draw a lot of inspiration from listening to sets on Soundcloud, NTS, and Sphere Radio.

Where do you prefer to dj or to make music in general?
We prefer to play outdoors, especially in the afternoon or early evening. It definitely doesn't have to be in the middle of the night.

Did you have any specific thoughts about your podcast?
We are always very happy to support and be a part of projects by other FLINTA* individuals. Often, the same big DJs get booked repeatedly, while newer or smaller artists don't receive the attention they deserve. FLINTA* people, in particular, often fall out of focus more quickly.

What would you like to change in the music scene if you could? 
- More diverse line-ups: It shouldn't always be just friends being booked, but also artists   
  outside of one's own bubble.
- Men, especially older ones, should be more sensitized in the club context. There have been situations where we were barely noticed or talked over or witnessed it happening to other minorities
- More support for FLINTA* producers and artists

What was your first record? 
Nora: My first record in life was by Shakira. For DJing, it was "Don't Push It Too Far" by Sweely.
Ems: I'm not really sure probably by Nirvana or a band from my hometown. For DJing my Bandcamp says "Most Wanted" by Vitess.

With a humble appearance Sevensol is not just an excellent selector, DJ, runs esteemed label Kann and Long Vehicle, has released beautiful music, he also is part of creating a lot within the musical scenes. A longstanding figure of the Leipzig scene, behind the counter at record shops and DJ-ing since ages. Resident at Nachtdigital Festival and appearences at Panorama Bar, De School, Bassiani, Waking Life and countless places in Europe and Asia in the last 15 years. He served us tunes live from THF Radio on a very hot Berlin summer night.
