With the early fans they had so surely hooked with their first two singles now totally over them and not at all interested in their music, WE R OK are ready to remind the world that they are in fact real people, making real music, and really don’t know what is going on.  Character flaws and inconsistency aside, WE R OK’s new single, “Down & Out”, is without question, a serious bop.  

After hearing the initial idea that Frank had laid out, the duo tried a few things until Brian landed on the hook lyrics and melody while sitting at home questioning life.  Initially Frank hated what Brian had come up with – that is, until he stopped paying attention, zoned out and heard Brian’s demo playing in the background while trying to get a grip on reality.  To Brian’s excitement, Frank said, “Yeah you right.  This is it”.  A handful more sessions, a lot more Bud Lights, an incredible amount of doobs and like 13 different mixes later (Thanks Goose), “Down & Out”, is what their parents would call, “Not bad”, but what they would call, “An absolute banger.”  Upbeat, depressing, energetic and catchy af, “Down & Out”, is sure to make them like 15 fans by summer.  Maybe you can be one?

Following up on their early summer bop, “Down & Out”, dysfunctional, New York based Alternative duo WE R OK are back once more with their new single, “Ms. July”.  Ready to show their handful of fans a whole new side to their sound, “Ms. July”, is a Funk inspired jam that is meant to be more fun than introspective and brings along with it a slick arrangement, ear-worm melodies and a slow-burning groove that will have you wanting to grab your best buds, hop in your big body sedan and slide down to studio 54.  

The tunes first iteration came when WE R OK member Frank Dal Pra hit the studio with his pal Luke Havranek spending a full night laying down the foundation for this funky fresh jam.  While the production was a far different sound than Frank was used to working with, there was no doubt that they were on to something.  The next day Frank sent Brian a bounce of the track with the note, “Bro, I can’t come up with any melodies on this.  See what you can do.”

Long story short, a few long nights in the studio followed and, “Ms. July”, was born – and now they are ready to share it with the world.

“Ghosts”, is the debut single from newly formed New York based duo WE R OK.

In the beginning of the year, and after about a year of not seeing each other, Brian headed to Franks house (with his wife's blessing) with the intention of having a night on the town. The pre-game quickly turned into over-time and Brian and Frank never ended up making it out of Frank’s dank basement studio. Frank, a life-long musician pulled up an instrumental from the stash and the hook melody instantly came flying out of Brian’s mouth without warning. Ready to rock, Brian and Frank wrote and recorded, “Ghosts”, in the span of a few hours. Spontaneous, unhindered and completely in their element, this one session was enough to ignite a fire inside that was moments away from going out. In attempt to fan the flames and keep the fire burning, Frank and Brian quickly formed a group, designed a logo, printed stickers, mastered the single and dove head first into a project that not a single person knows - or cares about.

WE R OK is nothing more than a new outlet for Frank and Brian's pent up frustration, mental anguish and limitless creativity. Two friends making music to help themselves cope... and hopefully helping others do the same.

Rolling Stoned is the second single from NYC duo WE R OK.  While the New York based duo navigated quarantine and two wildly different schedules, they have made sure to set aside 1 night every week to work on new tunes. "Rolling Stoned", is the groups second official single and is now set to release on August 28th. Switching things up from the more laid back vibe of their debut, WE R OK come in HOT on their latest tune, bringing a pumping, end-of-summer vibe that is equal amounts party and depression (they usually go hand in hand anyways). Created after a long night in the studio, the tune started with the hook which quickly set the tone for the rest of the song. Still riding high from the quasi-success of, "Ghosts", WE R OK are ready to kick things up a notch with, "Rolling Stoned".

While on the outside, "Rolling Stoned", sounds like a tongue in cheek party jam, underneath it is a cry for help. This song is meant in no way to glorify substance abuse, rather bring to light a topic that is often kept in the dark. Hold onto the upbeat, silly nature of the hook and the verses will instantly feel heavier and cut deeper.
