If I said “Music and Lights,” “Just an Illusion” or “So Good So Right”, would that ring a bell? Of course it would – they’re the most memorable hits by the iconic funk band Imagination, which sold over 50 million records in the 80s!

And today, for his new maxi-single, Nelson Leeroy has had the pleasure of producing an original song, “No More Lies,” in which Imagination’s lead singer Leee John sets his airy vocals to a groove so funky it could awaken the living dead from “Thriller” yet again! 

The single also features a down-tempo mix by talented young Russian artist 5 Reasons, the man behind the nu-disco hit “Night Drive in Moscow” featuring Patrick Baker. And Nelson’s compatriot Mark Lower, who’s signed with Nervous Records and currently tops the Beatport nu-disco indie dance chart, has crafted a funky club version for those of you who love to get down! “

The Invisible share new track Easy Now - an 808-inflected deep-funk workout - recorded as part of the sessions for their new album, which Floating Points has contributed to amongst other guests. Describing the track Dave Okumu says: “George Clinton once said, "funk is anything you need it to be to save your life". We have always agreed. Serenading the unseen has become easier now.”

Additionally, catch The Invisible (Dave Okumu, Tom Herbert and Leo Taylor) performing as part of the Floating Points live band at the Dimensions Festival Opening Concert broadcast on Boiler Room tonight from 6pm GMT in support of his just announced debut album "Elaenia".

Since their last album - 2012’s Rispah (Ninja Tune) members of the band have been busy recording for, amongst others, Grace Jones, Jessie Ware, Lianne La Havas, Adele, Lana Del Ray, Polar Bear, Petite Noir and In Dreams: David Lynch Revisited.
