Beginnings

Inside each and every one of you,                                        
there's a masochist and a sadist too.                                    
Although you try your best to deny them,                             
the urge is submerged in a field ripe for the plowing.                      
Don't come close to me Captain Trips spreads quick.            
This one's a plague of the mind we're all stuck in shit.           

 It's not a matter now of choosing.
 It never is when your will starts loosing
 No more than a process brought on by aging
               and torment, decay, and frustration.
 So kill the messenger and the sender too
And fail to claim it, all you've done, what's due.

I had a perfect cell
A little white room that I painted daily-
to make the walls unfold.
I was still enclosed, shut off, blind, but transcending.
There were no windows or doors...
until the appearance of that rotten jalousie.

The splintered light, a stale pollutant
infected the room's purity.
It drew me out to burn in the sun
and they said, "hiding is too easy."

Once I'm out I thrive
on the blood shedding lies of our kind.
And seldomly do I paint;
once inducted you're confined to the world I used to hate.
But I can never go back
to before I saw the rotten jalousie...
