my mom was taken away by cancer and the treatments that so many don't make it through. she struggled for years and finally lost. she was an amazingly loyal and caring person and above all a great mother to me and my 2 siblings, a wife to my father, and human to the world.

this song was written right after my mother passed away. the night of is what I refer to as far as the emotion and the direction everything takes for this song. this was me going through hell and watching my mom take her last breaths in front of me and my family. we all watched and exploded into tears in the room, leaving it and continuing in the hallway as we all comforted each other. that night I don't remember the drive home but I do remember going home alone and going to all the places she would sit like a lost dog. walking in the street in front of our house confused and torn to pieces.

that is a moment I will never forget and I will always be back in September.

this song is 9 mins and 24 secs (23.7 secs but really 24) because 9/24/2016 was when my mother passed away. this song goes through my journey with the recovery. starting low and emotional, dark and full of sadness. then getting slowly but surely full of more and more life. the break down I had all of my friends and family sing on it. from my best friends to my dad and uncle who my mom loved dearly. my friends and family helped me through this catastrophic event a ton and I wanted to show that in the music.

there is hope to recovering from an event like this. this song and my journey is the proof. may you find peace and love in this world.
