The second instalment in our series comes from an artist who has captured our hearts - Teresa Winter @teresa-winter-33772853. The @thedeathofrave affiliate's music embraces playful and sorcerous melancholy, with vocals that often sound delivered from the bottom of a well. She shares with us a mix born in the heart of a long and close summer in the North of England.

"When I was young I was really quite scared of the dark. I think my parents taught me to be and I remember the deciding thing was, I turned around and said: I'm going to go to the woods at night and walk into the darkness and embrace it and if I die, I die. I remember doing that and... nothing happened. I suddenly thought: I now know fear of the dark is wrong. In fact, it's comforting. So at that point in my life I embraced - literally - the darkness. I mean, not in a sense of evil. I'm on a lifelong mission to get rid of this equation, dark is evil and light is good. It's all to do with discovering the point that we don't need lights. Light - illumination - comes from within the darkness, not from electrical lighting. I think Christian based society's got that very wrong. They think that as soon as Britain's lit up, it'll be a safer place to live - if you can see it you can capture it, control it - and they're absolutely wrong. It's the other way around. If we plunged into the darkness everyone would be safe."

Since Noel Dinse and Leonard Prochazka established the label in 2019 their aim is to create objects for individualized auditive and haptic sensations. With the process of selecting, collecting and archiving material they reflect on their socio-political surrounding and seek for possibilities to transcend given structures.
