DAS MAER nutzt die Unwettersaison, um mal wieder übers Ufer zu treten. Und diesmal spült das trickreiche Trio etwas an Land, das wir so definitiv noch nicht gehört haben: „Zuckertüte“ ist irgendwas zwischen Kinderlied, Art Pop und gut getarntem Protestsong. Was das alles genau soll, können wir im Moment noch nicht ganz sagen. Aber wir sind uns sicher, dass es irgendwas bedeuten wird. Oder auch nicht. Spaß macht es auf jeden Fall.

Westbalkonia kombiniert House mit deutschem Pop schöner als gestern.

Der Nordhäuser Adrian und Alex aus Sangerhausen gründeten die Popband Boe van Berg im Jahr 2011. Für das neue Projekt holte sich das Duo den Leipziger DJ und Produzenten Marc DePulse mit ins Boot.

Unter dem Namen Westbalkonia können sich die Drei auf neuem musikalischem Terrain ausleben. Marc DePulse und Boe van Berg produzieren gemeinsam elektronische Musik mit handeingespielten Instrumenten und deutschsprachigen Vocals. 

Im Sommer 2012 lernten sich die drei Musiker kennen. Marc DePulse veröffentlichte zunächst nur das Feature „Westbalkon“ mit der Band. Später inspirierte dieser erste House-Track das Trio zu Label- und Bandnamen. Die Verbindung entstand, wie jede gute Musikergeschichte heutzutage: im Internet. 

Als Produzent und studierter Musiker spielt Adrian nicht nur Gitarre und Bass, sondern auch alle anderen Live-Instrumente für die Westbalkonia-Tracks ein. Alex ist die starke Stimme der Band. Rauchig, kräftig und mit einer Portion zarter Melancholie bleibt er im Kopf. Auch die Texte schreibt er selbst. Boe van Berg und Marc DePulse finden sich immer öfter gemeinsam im Studio ein. 

Die verschiedenen Genres Techno/House und Popmusik, aus denen die Musiker ursprünglich stammen, werden kombiniert. Jeder der Drei lässt sein Können in die Produktionen mit einfließen. Die Single "Nachtmensch" wird auf Marc´s Label "JEAHMON! Records" noch unter Marc DePulse & Boe van Berg im Frühjahr 2013 veröffentlicht, bevor das Trio Ende 2013 das Label und die gleichnamige Band "Westbalkonia" gründete.

► Demos:
Wir lieben Musik über alles. Dafür haben wir auch unser eigenes gleichnamiges Plattenlabel gegründet. Auf "Westbalkonia" möchten wir allerdings nur unsere eigenen Songs veröffentlichen, daher nehmen wir keine Demos für das Label an.
