Westernsynthetics - Outlook Festival 2012 Mix

Immediately after completion of the May Day Radio album in early 2010 I set about approaching my favourite producers, fellow travellers or comrades if you will, about doing a remix for me.

The brief was simple, choose a track off the album and do whatever you want with it.
The résponse was pretty overwhelming and humbling.
The quality of the production and effort that went into these remixes is incredible.
I had no money to pay these people, they did it as a love job.

Why then you ask has it taken so long for this album to be released?
Various hurdles mostly to do with money and time combined to prevent me from giving this album the release it deserves.
100% of the profits from this release will go to the remixers themselves.
So please show them some love.

Big thanks and big love to my brothers and sisters who took the time to remix my work. It's a very humbling experience to have your peers re-interpret you're work.
It's a pretty rewarding thing to hear your favourite producers flip your music on its head and make it their own.

Westernsynthetics has been releasing records and performing around the world since 2005.
His May Day Radio album was released in 2010 on Sun Continental Dub distributed by Cargo Records UK. Westernsynthetics draws from a vast pallet of soundscapes, field recordings, noise and old instruments over manic polyrhythms often recorded using live drummers.
He recently completed his second album, Pianodrumming written and recorded on an old out of tune piano in Berlin. 

Westernsynthetics live shows fuse his unique blend of acid, dub, techno, jungle & 60's psychedelia. 
In 2011 & 12 he performed at the world renowned soundsystem culture festival Outlook in Croatia. Significantly, Westernsynthetics was the first Australian to perform at Outlook. He has also performed at Pyramid Rock, Big Day Out, Rainbow Serpent, Folk Rhythm & Life, High & Dry and Peats Ridge festivals. He has opened for Scuba, Skream & Benga, Distance, Deadbeat, 2562, Mark Pritchard, Harmonic 313, Afrika Hitech & Tes la Rok among many others.
