Botnia Noir 2023

This track is a cool example of how I put my musical ideas together to make a final song. I've tried out lots of different sounds and tunes, always adding new stuff and working on the track as it changes and grows. Sometimes, what I come up with here even becomes the starting point for a whole new song, like it happened with "Causality I" a few years back. This track had been laying around in my drive for a long time (i never delete any of my project files) i decided to release it as-is after a few tweaks. I somehow like the mystical and horror kind of soundscapes in this track.

The Antecedent

Sometimes you have those days when you start playing some notes and suddenly - after a few hours - you have a really nice complete track at your hand. That's what happened here on this calm and frosty autumn Sunday. 

There might be a Part 2 as well because this track started evolving on it's own and became too massive for one song already.

Orchestral Causality

A music maker from Finland navigating the sea of multiple electronic music genres since 1997. 

Synthwave, progressive house, electro, chillout, ambient, .. you name it. As long as it’s fun to make!

Software: Logic Pro X + AU synths
Hardware: Macbook Pro M1, Akai LPD8 pad controller and a M-Audio keystation mini32 keyboard. A Fender Squier bass guitar and an acoustic guitar. Scarlett Solo audio interface, Behringer Truth B2030A monitor speakers and a t.bone microphone.

I have a history with many tools starting from the tracker and demoscene era in the 1990s. Impulse Tracker, Fast Tracker, Fruityloops before it became FL studio and so on until settled with the Logic sometime around 2004. In Soundcloud since 2010.
