Responsible for a huge part of the development of the world’s biggest and most reputed electronic music scene, Ellen Allien has been active wearing various hats in music since the late 80’s / early 90’s as an artist, a DJ, a label owner, and a radio show host pushing other artists as far and large as Apparat or Modeselektor, even releasing the debut Moderat Album on her own BPitch Control, to pushing some of the earliest Ben Klock and Marcel Dettmann records all the way to being responsible for close to the entirety of Paul Kalkbrenner’s catalog for almost a decade…

No need to introduce LA-based techno legend Drumcell to our cast of RYC fellows, the man’s CV speaks for itself. Hard-hitting and brainy, Drumcell’s signature is one of mixed essence, ruggedly agressive yet endowed with levels of production intricacies and future-facing relevancy that can not but command admiration, as evidenced by his background of top-level efforts for Chris Liebing’s CLR, Blank Code and his own imprint, Droid Recordings. True to his ubiquitous style, Drumcell treats us to a dizzyingly vibrant mix of high-powered, kick-heavy industrial thunder and knee-buckling bass manoeuvres, which promises to have the club door's hinges flying off and the building’s foundations shaken askew. Zeroed in on busting every damn sign of breathing, raving life in its wake.

Listening to Ellen Allien's serenade under the balcony of trance and techno back in December in our Room 01. This set is one hour of timeless club essence with gradual build-ups to first-class drops, hard cuts, and bouncy breaks. 

The Berliner perfectly balances binary and ternary rhythms, playing on all the grounds without getting lost.

Speedy J at Rotterdam Rave Festival (19-08-2017)

New Frames, but well-known names: Mathis Mootz aka The Panacea (of DnB fame) teams up with fellow Berlin resident David Frisch on their latest endeavor, obviously inspired by the thriving techno culture of the German metropolis. Both historiographic account of rave culture and very much a production of its time, the duos DJ-and Live-sets are as versatile as they are intense. From Dark Industrial Techno to Breakbeats to Neo-Schranz and Post-Gabber, all combined in absolutely flawless production (which is not much of a surprise considering the people behind the music) that bears enough ammunition for dancefloors the world over.
